USC 2010 Transfer Thread

There was an email sent out about financial aid and it had a deadline on there. I think it is June 14.

Hope I made sense.

ah. Do you mean deadline to apply or deadline for them to get back to release our financial aid packages?

Hi, I’ve been lurking here for a while, and like everybody else who hasn’t gotten a decision, freaking out for the past week. I just got forwarded into committee review. Is there a number of days that I have before it’s pretty much clear that I have been rejected? Or is that when I get the next message. There was discussion about this somewhere, but I can’t find it. Does anybody remember?

jocalo, at this point, I don’t think the previous guidelines apply.

Thanx Serapher! They had misplaced a file in my app, as soon as I cleared it up, my status changed to forwarded. Now I wait…

■■■. I never did the CSS either, only FAFSA. On the site it said the deadline for CSS profile is Feb 2nd, but if you miss the deadline, apply asap after it. Think its even worth it at this point?

I don’t know, but I think I’ll apply today. What’s the worst that can happen?

Paying the fee only to get no aid? I don’t know haha

Haha yea, but the fee is pretty minimal (under 20) isn’t it ? I’d be willing to take that risk.

Oh i thought it was the same as the application fee. Anyway, I guess I will apply.

I’ve decided not to pursue asking for reconsideration at USC. Long Beach has truly been good to me and I think it’s taken this stupid decision to remind me of how lucky I am.

Since I got my letter, everything’s been falling into place so now I feel like it’s definitely happened for a reason.

I think I’m still going to check what exactly the reason I was rejected, because an explanation really escapes me.

Good luck Trojans! I’m still an honorary Trojan so I’ll probably see y’all around campus during the upcoming year and in Gateway since one of my best friends is living there! :)

just so you guys know, instead of paying the $800 fee for reassignment, you can just wait for the confirmation deadline for your housing assignment to pass and then pay another $45 fee application for a new assignment.

That’s what I did, and I think it’s a lot better than paying the 800 fee because I’m not even sure where if I want my own apartment, or if I want to do housing.

@deborah i’m appalled that you got rejected :frowning: you should really look into it and find out why! good luck with everything :)

Good luck to you, too :D. USC’s specialty schools look absurdly hard to make it into.

how long does it take after you’ve been admitted to send in your deposit? Right now I can’t access anything online.

On the admissions packet it says either send in the form attached to the packet or wait 7 days and it will available to pay online. I sent in my deposit online via the backdoor method the day I got my acceptance package though. Hopefully it was ok to do so.

I have a question about USC admissions and how they work.

I applied for undergrad pop music and I was told yesterday that my file had been sent to Thornton for their recommendation as to whether i get into my chosen major.

I was wondering;

Does this mean that i have passed USC Admissions and now it’s down to Thornton? (ie USC Admissions said yes, now thornton has to say either yes or no)

OR

Does this mean that USC Admissions made their recommendation but now Thornton has to make their recommendation? (ie USC may have said yes or no and now Thornton can say yes or no.)

Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated.

Status is still reviewing…

If any transfers were wondering about the Transfer Merit Scholarship, here’s the info:

playthemdrums, to my knowledge, it means neither. USC admissions isn’t involved with Thorton admissions in that capacity. The general office just makes sure you have a complete application, deals with updating your status on USConnect and does other administrative activities.

@Quentin13

Did you receive an email confirmation for the deposit and access to your USC email? It has been 7 days for me and I still can’t access the enrollment box through USConnect.
