USC 2010 Transfer Thread

For SGR people: how long was it after you guys sent your Spring transcripts did your status change to “Spring grades received”?
I’ve had the “unable to process the …” status for a few weeks now- since about a few days before I received my SGR in the mail. Never had a forwarded status, SGR status, acted on status, or anything besides “wait until june 1st” and “unable to process.”

@purplepurple I’m in the same boat. I was even told (last Thursday) to give them a few days and that I should receive my decision shortly but nothing yet.

@serapher thanks alot. I’ve had bad luck with schools. They’ll wish they had accepted me one day  Congrats to everyone who got in. You’ll have a great undergrad career there =)

Haha, I got Gateway room mate matched with someone from this thread! I just sent him an email (or two) in response.

playthemdrums, damn right :D.

woo Finally got my orientation email.

Gateway still hasn’t responded to my application though. If it’s not one things it’s always another…

I got placed in Founders… So much for being close to campus! I’d consider it if I could figure out who my roommates were, but I think I’m just going to get a one-bedroom apartment. That way I can decorate it myself haha. Is anybody here planning on living there?

Found out all but two of my final grades - all A’s so far. My two Friday classes are kind of easy A’s as long as you do the work - swimming and stage makeup. So I’m crossing my fingers that earning a 4.0 with eighteen units this semester, and a 4.0 overall, will convince USC to admit me!

I want my gateway roommate!!! Agh!!!

Hey I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I got in USC but I just found out that I got a D in one of my classes. I should note that the class has nothing to do with my major and it’s just a general ed. class. I was wondering what are the odds of getting my acceptance revoked? What are the worse case scenarios? Will anything happen at all? Thanks!

Nothingelse, you know the worst case scenario. I don’t know your semester GPA, overall GPA or acceptance condition so it’s difficult to really speculate. Call them tomorrow and they’ll tell you. There’s a good chance that you’ll be fine if you still maintain reasonable GPAs, in my opinion.

USC gave me no financial aid whatsoever so if I go I’m going to be paying close to $56,000 and that kind of makes me want to second guess going there, even though I really really want to!! Does anyone know of any merit-based scholarships or grants that are available?? please help!

@boss529 - I imagine the deadline for most merit based scholarships or grants that would kick in for fall semester have passed by now. Worth checking around though I guess. That sucks about no financial aid :frowning: What major were you applying to?

boss529: what was your efc??

anyone know if admissions works on the weekends? i just want my status to change! i gave my spring grades on the 8th…maybe they dont change it that soon?

Im annoyed. So my status has been the “we are unable to process…” for quite some time. Since maybe mid-may. I was asked to send in my SGR. I did both electronically(unofficially) and officially by mail, and still have no update from SC. I called SC a week ago, and they said they have not processed them yet.

Yet, i see SGR people being accepted on the transfer decisions forum. What should I do? im getting rather impatient.

@lovingsc they have so many SGRs they handed out, don’t expect a 3 day turn around. They do work on Saturdays, though many people have had their transcripts in MUCH earlier than you and still have no update, my guess is that you’re going to have to wait in the back of that land so don’t expect anything soon.

I still hadn’t received any mail from USC so I decided to call them. Just found out I got rejected, but was told I can appeal, even though previously, it was said that transfers are not allowed to appeal. I’m confused now. Can we appeal now? Thanks!

I got a mail from usc to submit a SGR.
When I tried the backdoor method, I can log in to the enrollment deposit form.
is this mean spring admit?

@ nothingelse–i’m still waiting on my math grade to see if i received credit or no credit…so i’m kinda in the same boat as you because i’m not sure if i passed or not  I didn’t have a gpa requirement in my accceptance letter, but so far i have all A’s so i’m hoping it will be okay.

@ beauselisker1990 (and anyone else who has submitted grades after receiving an sgr)

is a transcript still missing in your documents needed tab? Mine is even after sending in an official and unofficial last month.
