Do I have to accept admission to see my transfer credits? I’m in a really tough spot with the tiny bit of FA they gave me, and I’d like to know if staying another year here before going to USC as a junior will require me to take summer classes @ USC and pay the tuition for that in order to do all the gen-eds

hellostranger

Are the financial aid packages from both school comparable? USC has an excellent communications major but if it means going into horrible debt going then then i would choose UCSD.

socal4, I don’t think you have to apply through USC for Tuscany. Here you go, [Westar Housing - Tuscany and Shrine Housing](http://www.westarhousing.com/). I would say that Gateway’s in a better position and similar in price but I haven’t done thorough research.

Contact your counselor at USC and ask this question. They should be able to help you figure this out.

@bbg USC gave me an FA package of $40, 220. $29k University grant, $2k work-study. Only $8000 from the stafford/perkins loan. EFC is $15k which is no problem for my parents. So I would say it’s a pretty decent package.

so i don’t know. as of the moment, i have no FA from UCSD because of the complications in my current status here in the US. If i am going to UCSD, then my parents would have to pay full tuition. Luckily, USC cleared me and counted me as a permanent resident already.

hellostranger

Wow! i think you know where you need to go then! Congrats on USC! You need to celebrate!

@bbgg yeah but there’s another problem. in my acceptance letter, it says that im entering as a sophomore. however, i already have 74 units done thus i should be a junior. is there a possibility that they made a mistake?

Have you checked your transfer units on oasis? if they are not posted or you think there has been a mistake contract a counselor in admissions and ask them to go over it with you.

Transfer credit evaluations usually aren’t finished at the time of admission. It takes a bit.

can i please have the link for oasis?

@serapher so it is possible that i will enter USC as a junior level transfer even though it says on my letter that i’m only entering as a sophomore? did anyone here have the same experience?

hellostranger57, yes. Here’s an example of 17 credits changing to 41, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/743892-usc-2010-transfer-thread-714.html#post1065112437.

hey can anyone tell me how to sign up for orientation??? i submitted my enrollment today, does it take a while for me to be able to access the orientation sign up site?

@bbgg i can’t log in oasis. what username do i use? i haven’t sent in my commitment deposit yet so i wouldn’t have a usc email yet.

@Serapher So when do I find out exactly if I can enter as a Junior? I don’t want to pay the commitment deposit and cancel my SIR to UCSD if I’m still not yet sure if I will be entering as a Junior.

I was accepted on the 24th, and my transfer credit report became available today (29th) at 4:30 PM. I imagine you will find out sometime this week.

i turned in my official grades last Wednesday.

should i be hearing soon?

@rbk

It’s been 5 weeks for me, and at least a month for someone else. I think we both got denied. Haven’t heard of people waiting this long with no action what so ever. I can’t tell you how ****ed I am that nothing has happened, If I’m getting denied, deny me.

@BC
wow that is torturous…you should def. call them up and see whats up. if i don’t hear back by this week then im calling.

don’t lose hope b/c i know ppl that heard in July and got in.

This might be a dumb question, but how do i login oasis? I don’t have a username for it yet or usc email.
