So who here is going to this Friday’s orientation (7/16). I am and would like to meet up with anyone who has devoted their time and patience (or rather anxiety and paranoia) to the the transfer admissions process. We’re a family now and we should meet!

@JerseyBD You have to have attended orientation I think because after I finished orientation on the 9th I received the e-mail and code for football tickets on the 11th, while others who haven’t attended orientation yet have not received it. Don’t worry all students are guaranteed season tickets as long as you get you code and submit your request before August 31st. Remember, students sit in the student section so there is plenty of room for all.

Just got my rejection letter loooool. What I don’t understand is why they would give me an SGR in the first place if they were still going to reject me when i got a 4.0 in the spring. Anyhow, best of luck to you ladies and gents, I will officially be attending UCSD now.

@budlight - congrats!! you’re so lucky you got in Marshall in spring I didn’t even think that was possible. I would rather have that then FALL for econ

Yeah I’m just a little disappointed because I met with a counselor after I got rejected last year to set up a transfer plan, and I took the classes they told me to take and got a higher GPA than what they asked for. They told me applying undecided or to marshall wouldn’t make a difference if I did the things they asked, but i guess that wasn’t true. Too bad, guess I’ll be going to Chapman for their entrepreneurship program with a scholarship.

You aren’t in the system yet, you have to wait a few days.

Basically 1 more day before I go to orientation and I…

1) Don’t know how much financial aid im getting (Was accepted on 6/24)
2) Don’t know what I’ll be doing for housing. It’s been over two weeks since my housing app was turned in and I have not heard back.

@Beau and Seegeewhy

I’ll add you guys on facebook later on tonight or something. Hope you guys aren’t looking for anything too expensive for housing hahah.

Yea, I’ve got a ROTC scholarship that pays either tuition or room & board, just gotta see how much USC gives me before I make that decision.

Did USC ask you for additional documents as well? (I.E. cash/savings statements, investment papers, etc…) They asked for them like two weeks ago and are already processed according to OASIS.

Doesn’t seem like there are too many of us on the board going to the 16th orientation.

ballamalla1, there will be a point during orientation where there are a lot of booths set up for various organizations. One is to get your USCard. Make sure you get it in earlyish so that they can process it.

Since the next orientation is so soon, I’ll go ahead and post some information on registering. You’ll be using USC’s online registration system (go to myUSC -> web registration -> fall).
Find the courses you’re hoping for and “add section”. Don’t worry about the times at this point. Do this stuff beforehand and then just close the window. It should be just as you left it when you log in at orientation. Then, during registration on orientation day, use auto-schedule. It can be a bit finicky but it works well if you don’t have anything manually scheduled. It’ll give you some different schedule configurations. If you go to auto schedule then want to go back without choosing any of the schedules, there’s an option that says something like “back to course bin” or something. Find a combination of class times you like and click “make this my schedule” or something similar. Then, hit commit at the top. There you go. This way you don’t have to try to mentally figure out which times are compatible.

You’re supposed to take the picture beforehand as part of your pre-orientation homework. I don’t know if you can have your picture taken that day.
