USC 2011 Transfer Thread

OMG congrats silly!!!

^^

Did you apply as a Freshman or Transfer?

I have over 30 units (including the APs) after this first year, so not quite sure the SAT/ACT count for anything.

Took 22 first semester, 7 winter semester, and am taking 15 right now. Also have 25 AP units.

@CrownoftheSea: As a transfer

Silly, what does your status say now??

(copied and pasted from application page)

Application Status:
The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2011)
Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by June 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning June 11th.

Cool, congrats

Wow, it really seems like the status doesn’t mean much this year!

I’m sure you’re excited and curious about your FA package now. Hope everything will turn out good for you!!

Congrats sillygrav! Omg Viterbi is early again this year… I must have hope! I’m all anxious now! :'(

Congratulations sillygrav!! Most of us have the exact same status as you! It sounds like a bunch of them could start coming out at any time now :smiley: hopefully haha

@ZjgarTurtle
What’s your current status, and at least for architecture majors like us I was looking at some threads from last year and the year before and there was some architecture majors who got in with a gpa below 3.0 and not much on other stats but they said their portfolio was really good and their grade for architecture classes were pretty good so hopefully our portfolios are good looking to the architecture school and we get our acceptances soon!

Congrats sillygrav! Keep your fingers crossed for the rest of us!

Guys I would probably not check too much until May, last year there were only a few acceptances outside of Viterbi before May, when I mean a few I think it was like 4 or something. Everyone else heard back in May, unless your Viterbi don’t be checking every 4 seconds :p

Thanks guys. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

@NoHsDiploma: alright done. thanks for the link!

Anyone know when FinAid goes up?

Maybe I should’ve applied to Viterbi just so I could get accepted more quickly…=S

^hahahah, seriously!

@sillygrav

I think it takes about 2 weeks to a month after receiving your acceptance letter, according to the last year’s thread.

@dance4ever yeah same thing happened to me about 1 month ago. i assume they require fall grades, so thats why college transcript seems missing. I sent an updated transcript with fall grades 1 month ago. i am sure they recieved it but it still seems missing on usconnect.

did you send your fall grades in the first place?

@sillygrav congrats!! i also applied to viterbi, but stil my college trascript seems missing, i hope i get a quick decision too…

So far 2/2 applicants who have not followed the status progression. Could be a trend this year.
