@smc1234 - nope, Viterbi just said maintain a 2.0 overall gpa but nothing below 3.0 for Science, math, engineering course.

@deltron - yeah you should be fine. I didn’t explain my C or the one W I got for a programmig class.

I hope they don’t have that 3.0 floor for me in math/science classes…I’m taking 5 math or physics courses and I think I might drop to a C+ or something in one of them.

@AF1990: congrats on your acceptance!

Based on your acceptance letter, i think i’m doomed now. I took my business calc classes and i had a B- on one of them. It’s not failed but it’s not a B.

Should i keep trying since my status has changed to they need more information and i’m missing my college transcript.

I did well on my second quarter but i dont think it would help much since Business calc classes are part of the prerequisite.

@tantungnam - the admission process isn’t over yet! Stay positive! I got a C in one physics class which is an important class for engineering. If you have a solid gpa don’t lost hope ! :)

@ AF: so does that mean your average of preres has to be 3.0 or above or you cant have any class that’s below 3.0? I’m kinda confused.

@tantungnam - sorry I need to clarify. By 3.0 I forgot to mention that it means getting B’s or better once you have been accepted. My science, math, engineering courses overall gpa was above 3.0 when I applied if that helps. I’m not too sure how it works with other majors so yeah. That’s the extent of my knowledge

still no status change for me :'(

i hope CLAS will start getting decisions soon!

no status change for me yet either…still the freshman status. maybe soon lol

Yay, good to know there have been two other transfer acceptances :)

The fight for the transfer merit scholarship begins now…

So I’m applying with 45 credits under my belt (completed as of end of spring). Will they try me for my 1st priority, 2nd, and undeclared? Or 1st, 2nd, and 3rd priorities?? ( I remember in part of the application it asked for 3 majors).

3 majors? I recall they asked for first and second intended major. Then there was a third option where you could select your pre-professional emphasis.

And I believe they check your first and second major. If an applicant did not select a second intended major then USC will consider them for Undeclared.

Nope. There was a spot that asked for 3 majors, not including pre-pro.

Hey, guys! I’m new to CC and I’m so glad I found this website. Does anyone know when the Marshall first started sending out acceptances last year? I’ve only seen talk about Viterbi and CLAS. Thanks for the help!

Just out of curiosity how many W’s has someone been admitted to USC, specifically architecture if that matters, and does anyone know what were some explanations given that USC understood and still accepted those who had W’s?

does anyone know who gets rejected from SPPD? it seems like no one ever does get rejected from there!

Sorry I read the grade thing wrong, guess i was too excited lol. here’s what it actually says:

“you are admitted under the condition you earn a gpa of 3.0 or higher in the spring courses you listed in your application, with no individual grade lower than C, and grades of B or better in any engineering, math or science courses…”

Again sorry for misinformation. Forgive me CC community
again goodluck to all and stay positive.

This is what Bruce Grier, the admissions counselor and the guy who reads SMC applications and other applications told me at a workshop.

IF you get a W in a class you have to explain it in your application. My friend got in USC with 3 W’s but they were in one semester. It was one occasion and she mentioned that she was presented with a great business opportunity that helped her find her passion…Maybe getting a W in 3 consecutive semesters would look less appealing because you would have to explain three different reasons why you dropped those classes.

Another admissions director for DeAnza college told me that if you get a W in a class, they are going to expect you to get an A the second time around( if you do take it again)…Not to say that you will not get accepted if you don’t.

Did anyone apply to Annenberg with a 3.75+ GPA? They are lagging with my status change… ugh. It’s still the freshie one.

HELP: What should I do in my situation?
I’m a PR major, sophomore transfer applicant.

I applied to Pepperdine University (Seaver College) and got accepted March 18th. They were very generous with financial aid, I got $4000 in pel grant, $28,000 from Pepperdine and was approved on a bunch of loans making tuition not a problem. I have to accept or decline this offer by May 1st, NO EXCEPTIONS.

I applied to USC Annenberg and submitted my app January 31st, and have YET to hear back from them. Last week Saturday my status had barely changed to:

"We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1. "

My dilemma, should I accept Pepperdine’s offer or wait out for USC? Im thinking of waiting til April 28th/29th if I do not hear back from USC by then. Do you think calling USC and asking them if it’s possible to rush my application would be a wise idea? Money is no object to me/my family and would not mind paying the admissions office if it costs money to do so.
