USC 2011 Transfer Thread

@snizzle77
what if we know someone that can get an interview? is it worth the interview or no?

transferguy: I was always told that an interview could hurt you more than it could help you. So unless you’re pretty confident you’ll nail it and say the right things, I don’t know. Could be beneficial to you.

We’re all different–my kids really do well in interviews & I think it helps them a great deal by setting them apart. They have many and diverse interests that makes them very interesting to talk to & keeps the interviews very memorable. My D did NOT get an interview in connection with her transfer app. S got an interview when he applied to USC for engineering–it was supposed to be his practice for him to be more comfortable with later interviews to the schools he REALLY wanted, but it ended up being one of the few interviews he had at all. It was a mutually enjoyable experience, based on the results–he was admitted with generous merit award.

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2011)
We have received your application, and we need more information. Please ensure you have submitted all required items. Due to the high volume of application documents we receive, allow sufficient processing time.

BAHHHHHHWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

now it says I’m missing my high school transcript… kind of ODD since it says “high school transcript” three times in my document portal, and I recall sending it that many times as well. -______________________________-

@transferguy
If your confident in interviews go for it and do you think you could help others out with an interview as well?

although, interesting to note - I applied to SCA and experienced a status change along with the other SCA applicants, although all of our statuses are different.

@transferguy: no, I mean transfers aren’t allowed to have interviews. I was talking to my friend’s mom, who is very good friends with the head of transfer admissions at USC, and she made sure to tell me that this year they are pretty strict about not allowing any transfer interviews :/

The Laker base is huge…when they win.

But forget the Lakers. I don’t watch basketball and I know I hate 'em. From LA btw. I’ll just sit back and enjoy my Dodgers :slight_smile: Win or lose.

@wolf…did you drop the classes after the refund drop date?

@ sadfish: same boat here, i’m waiting for my transcript and hopefully i can send it next week.

@sydneyral i agree, i love the dodgers so much!

@snowboard129 it was so long ago, but i know i did it on the last day. i even called enrollment or admissions to confirm that i wouldn’t be charged (since i was just out of high school and wasn’t really sure about what i was doing), they said everything was fine and i wouldn’t be charged, but i guess that wasn’t true. i applied for an appeal though, so i guess i’ll just have to wait 2-4 weeks to see what they’re decision will be.

Hey guys I really need some help right now
I got a notice in the mail today from USPS. It said missed delivery for a letter. It says that it was registered mail. I cannot call the post office because it is closed at the moment. Can the guys that already got in tell me how big their acceptance envelope was and if it was registered mail from the USPS? I want to actually get some sleep tonight -_-. I’m in Cerritos,CA if that helps.

^^ did you apply to virtebi?

@zaman92 it is about a 9.5 x 12 inches roughly. It came via first class mail if that helps?

@prok2010
nahhhh i applied to CLAS Philosophy/Politics/Law
@AF1990 ahh I see. Did you have to sign for it? LOL I just realized it is prob my tax refund…

@Zaman92 Nope. The mailman just stuffed it in my mailbox.

@AF1990 Alright then haha. False alarm. Congrats btw! Best of luck. I just hope CLAS starts coming out soon.

As a side note…I don’t think my major has a large applicant pool. You guys think it will help in the admissions process?

A quick question.

For those who are transferring as sophomores at USC, considering you’re not double-majoring/minoring in something else, if you take all the courses you need full-time after transfer, when will you graduate??

I’m a bit confused because I’m going to be a junior at UC if I go there and will be graduating in 2013, but if I go to USC, I’ll be a sophomore… So in case of going to USC, am I going to stay undergrad for a full additional year and graduate in 2014?

I have 55 USC transferable units so it’s almost the level of junior transfer, but not quite.

@whisper11

i’m not sure but i’m guessing you would have to do one extra semester or take a really heavy course load for the rest of college. you could always take summer classes and stuff if you realllly didnt want to spend extra time at sc
