If the dates allow - sure thing! But if USC releases decisions late for the commit to NYU can happen at all - then… well…
Good luck to everyone if decisions come out to tomorrow! Crazy how much control these universities have over our emotions and thoughts. Reading my appeal one last time and letting go of it! We can always transfer if we want it bad enough:)
Good luck to everyone who appealed! Hopefully decisions will be posted tomorrow instead of a later date.
someone on my Instagram just changed to USC, does that mean their appeal came out?
@ihatecollege751 not necessarily! they could have been a spring admit converted to a fall admit or maybe they just changed their bio! it probably would be best to ask to person directly to avoid additional stress!
maybe he/she just got around to updating. The action does not represent a collective action from USC.
I hope it’s tomorrow
Someone on Reddit just posted saying that the admissions office said no appeals would be overturned for fall. Anyone know if this is credible?
@Cinnamom I think it’s fair to say that, although I’m only guessing…I don’t think appeals typically get overturned for FALL semester. (Spring admits would have the option to move to fall spots before any appealing applicants would get a fall offer). The successful appeals I know about were for spring admission. The poster on Reddit also said she was told to “check the portal because decisions will be out in the next week or two” – when we all know it’s most likely tomorrow. Sounds like the admissions rep wants these bothersome calls to go away!
i’ve heard of people who got in fall semester off an appeal. admissions officers are probably tired of questions about this and we should all just wait for the decisions to come tomorrow.
Thank you for the clarification, @asbv123 and @WCWSM52 !! Any idea what time results are typically released?
People do get their appeal overturned for the fall semester; the thread last year showed both spring and fall admits!
I’m sure everyone is stressed about this, and at this point, there is nothing more we can do besides waiting for tomorrow!
Positive vibes!!
@Cinnamom last year, i saw that results came in all throughout the day with some starting as soon as midnight on decision day; however, would anyone like to clarify?
@studyybug last year was an anomoly, I was told this year will be more normal in terms of numbers. Even last year wasn’t as many as people thought, we just had more posts on here so it turned into legend.
Ik more people are getting taken off waitlist compared to previous years- do you guys think it’ll be the same case with these appeals since USC doesn’t technically have a waitlist
They admitted almost 2,000 more students than usual. And while some may be changing their college plans, a lot of students aren’t as well.
ahhhhhh okay got it. thanks.
If appeals come tomorrow, will it be at midnight today? Or sometime during the day time? Or rolling throughout the day. I’m picking up my cap and gown tomorrow I’m already going to be crying ?
Not sure if this was posted earlier but good perspective on USC appeals:
There are really only two valid reasons to appeal an admissions decision. One is if a clerical error resulted in incorrect information on your application. This would be something like your SAT score was missing a digit or your GPA was misreported. These types of appeals are generally more likely to be honored since the admissions committee did not have access to your actual academic profile. The other valid reason to appeal is if significant new information becomes available. This might include a 200-point change in your SAT score, or a national award you recently received. While these are still less likely to be honored than appeals based on clerical errors, your rejection could get overturned in rare cases.
Good luck to everyone! I’m so scared
