USC Admitted Transfer Students 2008

I just submitted my commitment deposit by hand today, need to wait until I can register for July 25 orientation, but the lady at admissions says the july 25 one might be full already =(

To those who still need housing, don’t lose hope. I applied last monday for housing and got a spot today.

Troy East and Troy Hall are more than likely all gone. I listed both places as higher up on my preferences than Century (the place I would eventually be placed), and I applied back in April. But as Tones said, don’t lose hope you may still get housing somewhere at this point.

Question: Do I have to buy a parking permit to bring my car if I got housing? How does that all work anyways and I order from the transportation website?

Tones - Which apartment will you be living in?

If any female transfer students on here haven’t applied for Housing yet and want a single room in Parkside IRC Suites, I can hook you up. I’m trying to cancel my contract, and the only way I can do so is to find someone to take my place. Another option, if you don’t want my specific room, is that you can take my contract and try to reassign at the beginning of the semester into a different space; however, there’s no guarantee you’ll get a space you want. Please contact me via email at ozgen@usc.edu if you’re interested or if you have any questions. Thanks!

ebozgen I would definitely be interested!!! i just got my acceptance yesterday i need to send in my commitment deposit (i can’t login yet) but i am definitely going. what does IRC stand for?

hey guys I just got accepted and I’m kind of worried about getting everything done. I can’t login to the commitment site yet so I figure I’ll turn it in tomorrow. But what if they run out of room for orientation on the 25th? Do you guys think they’ll make another orientation for people who are just barely getting in? Does anyone have any advice on housing? What’s the best thing to do since it’s so late? I did email ebozgen so maybe that will help?

also how soon did you guys get your email accounts, financial aid all that?

scarletstar89: I replied to your email. =)

has anyone still not gotten the football email that has attended orientation? 2 of my friends who went to the same date got theres about a week and a half back and I still haven’t gotten mine…

Solomonm- Neither have I. I’m really anxious to buy them too.

JWP07- I got housed in Century my first choice. I think some freshmen get housed there too but its a big building so i figured I’d be more likely to get a spot there.

And what’s the deal with parking for those with on campus housing? Do we need to and where do we buy permits?

When are we able to login to the myUSC thing and USCnet, Oasis and all that?

The only thing I can log into at t he moment is the commitment deposit page and the email account (my email is fully working)

Why do they make us wait 5-7 days after we make the deposit (to register for orientation)? isnt orientation on the 25th ? thats only 8 days away

Hey Guys, i got admitted to ECON/math major, which is my second choice.(my first’s Marshall)…DOES ANybody know whether i can change the major after get in?

wen is the last orientation?im out of Country for an intern…

Solomonm - Regarding the football e-mail, the deadline for purchasing the tickets is August 15 so I think there is still time for the e-mail to come

Also, can anyone shed any light on me and Tones’ question about student parking if we are in on campus housing?

One last question about financial aid. I received my awards list recently and on the list of awards is there supposed to be some sort of grant labeled ‘Cal Grant’ or is that within the University Grant category?

To those who got in as an econ. major, what kind of careers do you plan on pursuing? I got into the major, which was my second choice also, but don’t know how i can take advantage of this.

Would it better if I just got into loyola’s business administration as oppose to USC’s econ program?

hey i just submit the enrollment fee online, anybody could tell me how to get a MyUSC or email account?

JAB econ is almost just like a business degree. You take a lot of the same courses, it just has a larger range of classes to take. It has more of a liberal style to it over a straight business degree. A lot of MBAs actually took Econ as undergrad as it is very broad as you take a bit from accounting, finance, math, bus administration all in one.
