You can get a lot of the same jobs with an econ major as you do as a finance major. For example, a friend of mine majored in econ at USC and now he’s a personal wealth management consultant. He’s been doing it for about 6-8 years now and he’s pulling in around $600,000 a year… not bad hah

Hey Everyone…i just found out that i got in. I remember a few posts back someone posted a nice description of what we should do next. Can someone respost or direct me to where that page was ?

Economics is a great subject. If you get a chance read “The Worldly Philosophers” by Robert Louis Heilbroner. This book will give you better understanding of the subject. You can work in international development. Also you can apply for Master/PhD program at any big university (University of Chicago, Harvard, Yale) if you have good GPA as an undergraduate at USC.
I believe degree in Economics from USC is far more valuable than Loyola’s Business degree.

Is it too late to apply for financial aid? I didn’t apply back in March because I didn’t think I would qualify but now with my portfolio taking a brutal beating and a few other unfortunate factors I could really use some assistance.

I finished my FAFSA back in march but was reallyyyy lazy about the rest of the process and didnt finish my CSS profile application until a few days ago. When I turned it in and they received it I called them and asked them if I was still eligible and they said no based on the numbers I gave them for me and my family. However, they still gave me a subsidized stafford loan so I would still try to fill them out ASAP.

I just found out YESTERDAY that I’ve been accepted. I only have a month before I have to be down in LA (I live in Washington) and I haven’t found out my financial aid award or anything. My EFC was around $2600…does anyone have an estimate they can give me?

I need to wait 7 days after paying the commitment deposits, and the last day of orientation is on the 25th, so are they going to have another one?

I sent in official transcripts for my spring grade request… Do I need to send them new ones, or will the ones they have be good?

Is there any other advice on getting everything done before school starts? Anything else I need to know about?

FYI, I just noticed math/language placement tests need to be completed 72 hours (3 days?) before orientation in order to register for classes.

Um, I would think they would waive this deadline for those who cannot access the commitment site yet, but wanted to give a heads up - maybe a good question to add to your list if you are calling Mon.

they told me you HAVE to take a language test (even if you are a transfer) if you took a language in high school or at your previous university… where did you hear that you wont take the language test as a transfer?
