Hi, congrats to all of you! I was the transferring class of 2006 and I’m coming back to visit the forum.

For the accepted students, do you receive a big envelope with a certificate of acceptance this year?

yes kevin101, they did give us the certificate of acceptance.

Hey guys, I was wondering what the general acceptance rate is for USC Cinema for Writing for Screen & Television? Has anyone here been or known anyone that has been accepted for it? Thanks a lot.

1lazysoul: I think I got all of the classes I needed. It’s not looking too bad, 4 classes = 16 units. a business writing class, a couple upper division classes, and a mandatory GE…how about you?

jk_91: I don’t know all the stats for majors under SCA but I know production only accepts 25 transfer students.

SittingMoose: I’ll find out on Monday. I wasn’t able to attend orientation so their having me come see a counselor before I can get my classes.

Hi everyone! I am a Asian student and did not get a housing yet. Anyone is looking for a roommate? You can contact me!

Craigslist has some pretty decent housing option listings if you are still searching

**PLEASE RESPOND

What is everyone’s living arrangements?

Staying with parents, on-campus, or off-campus???

I looked at off-campus and there is nothing but shady houses and neighborhoods. How far is too far from campus? Is it worth staying at home and taking the train?

hey everyone!!
i’m still looking for (cheap/affordable) housing and (preferably female) roommates. my sis offered me space in her west LA apartment, but it’s totally far from campus and i’d rather find my own place with other USC students. if anyone’s still looking for housing/roommates, feel free to contact me and maybe we can get something together.

DJS3CA-- i visited the office of housing the other day and the guy gave me a map and marked the streets that are considered very safe and also within 15-30 minutes (walking). he said anything within the boundaries of Adams Blvd., Figueroa St., Vermont Ave., and Jefferson Blvd. are safe off-campus options and are close enough to campus. he also told me that Ellendale Place, Orchard Ave., 28th , 29th, and 30th St. still have a lot of apartments available (all within the boundaries he marked). i hope this helps if you’re still searching off-campus.

Hey, I have a question for the Marshall students: Can the optional accounting courses be completed the summer before you transfer?

Luckily, I was given on campus housing. It’s not as close as I’d want it to be but I have no complains since I could go biking to school.
If they didn’t give me housing, I would have opted for the train route.
It would be better than driving so I could use the travel time to study or do some other stuff beside being stuck and bored in traffic.
There are many apartments for rent around the campus and some are even closer than USC apartments so you might also want to look into that.

I’m kind of in that same predicament as well. However, i called the housing office and they said i was 6th on the waitlist and that i had a good chance to get some sort of usc housing offer. If you’re interested in that, I woudl call them up to see where you are in line (if you completed an application).

And yeah, i agree with you DJSC3A, alot of the places looked kinda shady haha.

jk_91: I dont see why they wouldnt accept it, but you probably have to transfer in the credits by a certain time for it to count towards the fall 08 semester. but don’t quote me on that. you should call up a marshall advisor or call articulation about that…

I spent the last 4 days looking for a place to live in LA near SC but in a good area. It was impossible. Everyone is either strange or the places are in horrible areas. Im interested in having roommates. If anyone is still looking let me know and I would be interested in meeting
