Blue: the perkins MPN was supposed to be sent out 8/1 but I didn’t receive it until 8/4 - you should e-mail the FA office if you don’t hear by tomorrow

Thanks everyone for you responses!

I GOT HOUSING in FOUNDERS!!

Sooo HAPPY!

However, on weekends I will be traveling back to Orange County for work.

Hey guys, just a heads up, book lists are now available. I’m probably not going to be on CC much anymore because of the new school year. See some of you in the grad school boards in a year or so!
Have fun at school all you new transfers! I hope to see some of you around. :)

my goodness i haven’t been on here in a while! it has been ridiculous trying to get ready for the transition to the new school year while enjoying the last little bits of summer! i too am probably going to sign off here and check in every once in a while, but to everyone, see you all at welcome week and ENJOY. we worked our @sses off this year, and we are reaping the benefits, so everyone work hard, and i’ll see y’all around campus! fight on! :D

Anyone still looking for housing? I need a roommate to share a room at Tuscany lol. Send me a PM if interested

can anyone fill me in on when the fall 2008 semester is going to start?

Move In Day = August 20th, 2008

Classes Begin = August 25th, 2008

For those of you getting a stafford loan, which lender did you guys borrow from? Can you please fill me in with the lender name and code. Thanks!

I picked Citibank

I choose USC for my lender.

Even though citibank’s offer is good, according to my Personal Finance prof it is better to borrow from a lender that only does “school loans” as opposed to Citibank who has different loans available. The reasoning behind this is because it would show up in your credit report and the other people viewing it would not instantly know that what you borrowed is school loan as opposed to other types of loan.

Does it matter though that you got a student loan or another type of loan ?, I thought the only thing that matter was that you paid it on time and your credit history wouldn’t be hurt…

I’m leaning towards Citibank as well, but I already have a loan from USC credit union, so I don’t know… The fees and % are the same, so I don’t know that it’d matter so much, or am I wrong ?

i chose sallie mae because i’m more familiar with it. Otherwise, the loans should not affect your credit history if you pay it on time. However, when people see your credit report, they will see a large amount borrowed. They will just question as to waht your are borrowing it for.

Thank you Matthew.

And I am thinking about changing my major from econ to accounting or finance.
Does anyone know the requirements?
I was rejected from marshall, but I really want a marshall degree!

You have to satisfy the requirements for Marshall first before you can declare the Accounting major.
Details can be found on the Marshall website or course catalogue

Did anyone pull out a private student loan? Does anyone know what the interest is like? I’m thinking about pulling out 6k. Can someone recommend a good place to pull one out?

I was also wondering is 42k the actual amount I should be paying if i’m living with my parents?? I thought it would be around 38k since I’m not dorming or anything. Can someone please confirm this to me.

Class begins on August 25th right?

Darn, no more summer now :(… time to end gaming mode and time to be in a nerd mode again.

check into USC’s credit Union for low interest private loans. They even have incentives to reduce your interest % based on grades and timely pay…

There’s the $18,000+ tuition per semester.
The health fee + insurance ~$500
I’d give it an estimate of at least $20,000 per sem

after all my grants went through
I only have to pay 2,126 bucks
its cheaper for me to go to a private
school rather than a public
school
thats crazy
