Quick question (I don’t know if it’s already been asked/I don’t know if I can sift through all those pages to look for it LOL): When does financial aid come out? I very well may not be able to afford this school.
Also: Is there still a chance to be awarded lower level scholarship money, and when would we be notified of that?
Thanks, congrats to those accepted, and to those rejected-it’s just one school. In 10 years you will look back on this day and LAUGH at the fact you were upset about it.
@xuxichi USC Admission twitter account tweeted “Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award on Friday and Financial Aid packages will be updated in your Fast Portal sometime early next week.”
Based on the lack of complete #s provided via Admissions, there may be something at play in terms of projected yield… meaning that they may have actually admitted a bit more, anticipating the need to do so. Time will tell, but that’s my current speculation. Usually they simply list the # admitted in total.
“We received about 59,500 applications for admission, but only have the capacity to enroll fewer than 3,100 students in our entering class. Of those offered admission, most achieved nearly straight-A averages and presented standardized test scores at or above the 98th percentile”
I see the change in wording using “the capacity to enroll fewer than 3100.” Interesting, that must be in response to scandal, giving them wiggle room and trying to get people to understand that one person admitted does not necessarily “take someone’s spot” in a 1:1 kind of thing. There is float when dealing with numbers this big, unless of course, I suppose, that rower would be 3101.
I’m also wondering where it says the major were accepted into- I’m a spring semester admit and applied to the school of architecture but there’s no mention of architecture in my acceptance letter.
The rejection letter was full of dancing around the truth hahaha. They couldn’t even use last year’s stats when talking about appeals cuz it was so bad last year they turned over so many. Also, they tried to say applications got more competitive, but could not because way fewer people applied this year. So they wrote about that very generally as well. Hilarious that a school that with an admissions scandal had to draft a letter in a way that would cover it all up and make it sound like things were different than they were.
Anyways, should I consider an appeal considering I made the fly-in visit (along with FOUR other people nationwide)? I think I got rejected due to some of my materials being missing, but when I emailed the counselor with these materials AS SHE SAID TO DO at my school when she visited, she didn’t bother to respond. Is the rest of the school as incompetent as the admissions department, because then I won’t waste my time writing one
@2022soon If you have any questions about TTP as time goes on, I am happy to answer, feel free to PM. I am very familiar with that…can share the good and bad. I have been on here for a long time, so it looks like I am 100% USC 100% of the time, but I actually get that it’s not for everyone and there are other great options. I kinda have a love/hate thing going with TTP. There is a thread started on that…
