USC Class of 2024 Applicants Thread

@map888 Congrats on a graduate - and one with a great job - that is always such a feeling of satisfaction for student and folks! (Getting off your payroll soon - weeee!)

The ending of college for all these seniors is just brutal - it’s just unbelievable really that such a thing could happen. I feel for all their loss and emotions behind it - events, friends, proper closure, it’s too sad…I hope people are being understanding to their feelings and not just throwing out the “bigger problems in the world” kind of reaction.

I agree with @TreeAlum, USC’s response to the covid-19 thing has only been amazing, thorough and compassionate. The new pres is making a good impression so far. tww, I still remember the day you posted about the Associates btw, you were so flippin’ excited - who wouldn’t be? A gift from the sky - totally unexpected, that was so fun!

Good luck all you scholarship recipients! Waiting for the flood gates of great news to open here!

Merit results are out!!!

they sent out notification email.

how do we see if we got a scholarship?

Does anyone know how the merit scholarships work for music industry majors? Wasn’t included in the initial January round and haven’t received any notifications or emails about it.

I got an email telling me I’m a Deans scholar! Didn’t interview for one/ get accepted in January so I don’t know if that’s how it works for everyone.

Also, does anyone know when we can apply for housing and how we get our login? The housing website is saying to apply for housing as soon as you are accepted but also saying you have to wait for an email for your login so I’m kind of confused.

I have a serious question. I didn’t apply for the merit scholarship deadline (submitted 15 seconds before the Jan 15 deadline lol) but I’m in dire need of a full ride. A while back USC announced that they were going to give full rides to families where income is lower than $80,000, and I come from a family of only $20,000 a year. As long as I submitted all my financial aid stuff, I should be fine and qualify for that full right, right?

I got Trustee scholarship!!! This is unbelievable

International Student

SAT: 1410
SAT Math II: 780
GPA: Unweighted: 3.97/4.00

Can I switch from Keck School of Medicine back to Dornsife if I feel the major isn’t right for me? What about to Viterbi Engineering or Marshall? Is transferring schools hard at USC in general?

And, besides submitting FAFSA, how do I apply for scholarships and aid?

@mollyod how did you see your scholarship? Was it just in the portal or did you get an email? Also, what major are you?

They told me in an email sent 30 minutes ago (I don’t know if this matters but I’m from IL) and my major is neuroscience in Dornsife.

@Cjhastings322 sorry forget to tag you ^^^

Is transfer major specific (meaning do they consider your major when transferring?) Is transfer from Keck or Marshall guaranteed to Dornsife?

If I want Viterbi, what are the prereqs, if any?

For the deans tuition, is it a quarter off tuition AFTER I get financial aid money or BEFORE (so 14k no matter what)

So I guess if a Thornton kid didn’t get the email we are out of luck? Dang.

@raincat My thoughts too…
