It sounds like they plan to space them out throughout the day tomorrow… to avoid congestion on the portal. They have not announced when that process will begin. They will email you when it is posted, but I suspect that most applicants will simply be checking in throughout the day tomorrow.
I just want to say that I have never said anything but have followed this thread for a while and it has been so helpful through this whole stressful process! Good luck to everyone tomorrow!!
I was wondering if I would get in trouble for talking about committing suicide on my common app (Specifically overdosing). My common app essay consisted of me crafting a plan to end myself because I was consistently belitlled and discriminated in the 7th grade due to having Autism and ADHD. Then I talked about how in the 9th grade I founded a suicide awareness club where I fundraised over $5k to donate to suicide prevention hotlines and companies. My initial thought was that I talked about how I learned from my past, and I took that past to craft a better future, but mentioning that I was overdosing myself makes me feel like I’m going to be called out for that.
On the USC Admissions Twitter, they said they will be releasing decisions by region? Is that a new thing? If not do any of you know which part of the country would get decisions back first?
We know from USC Admission’s twitter that decisions will be coming out tomorrow through the portal (they are deciding on when/how to mail packages at a later time).
We also know that decisions are being released by region. I’m assuming they’ll divide it up by time-zone for US applications, and maybe country for international applicants?
When people hear their results tomorrow and post their stats, please also include which region you are from!
@carbarlos It is really hard to pre-judge how anyone will react to an applicant’s essay. But I would not stress over it. Every applicant should feel free to speak their individual truth. Admissions counselors are primarily trying to get to know you better. If you are genuine, all the better. If they take away an emotional connection or are moved or gain a greater understanding of what moves you or what you are passionate about, that is really all that you can hope for as an end result.
Good luck…
@equinox2 Thank you! Good luck to you as well!

Do people know how much having a sibling currently at USC will help an application? They are a different major.
@ccstratt Overall, only about 10% of all legacy applicants gain admission in recent years. It is of course a considered factor, but it now only one among many. Good luck…
@ccstratt it doesn’t help but it doesn’t harm either
You can tell how popular USC is because of how active this thread is.

Is anyone else on the thread going to be attending CC and transferring to USC next year if not admitted?
