haven’t seen a “tell” yet… many other school have their “disappearing” or "appearing " buttons and Applicant vs Application nomenclature clues… it’s fun… keeps me busy on CC… something to look forward to since the whole process is now out of our control.

Ok, we got more requests from financial aid. Now, besides wanting parents taxes they want few other things. It just appeared on FAST portal today. Is this really normal?

I have a question.
If you applied financial aid, but fafsa isn’t available by February. How will financial aid come out by 19? I think the financial office cannot calculate. Should they know fafsa amount i guess.

what "other things " are being requested? So far we’ve been asked for and uploaded the following:
-CSS profile
-Non-filing statement form, student
-Student SSN# info
-Tax supplement form, parent
FAFSA still shows outstanding and due, but I just completed it 2 days ago…
We were requested parents supplement tax form by December 1st. We did it that time. I doubt that financial aid won’t come out even if got in EA because of fafsa.

Then all W-2 and schedules
Then detailed expenses for grandparents
Who lives with us as dependent
Etc….
It’s kind annoying and surprising……

Yes, it is normal. They will continue to ask for financial documents up until the day that RD decisions are announced. The financial aid office is not aware of whether or not a student is going be accepted or denied.

Anyone yet heard how many applications they received?
I have also received requests for additional forms, specifically W-2 and Schedule E From Parents’ 2022 Federal Tax Return. I thought that the CSS and FAFSA already covered the information on these docs so I’m a little confused as to why they would ask separately?

I can’t answer why they keep asking for the same paperwork, but it happens every year. It is nothing unusual. Just submit the paperwork again (and again and again) if necessary.

Out of curiosity:
Last year this blog had 6 times more traffic ( responses) compared to this year. Even larger difference with UCLA blog. Wondering if this correlates with less applicants? Less parents interested in this type of blog?
One of the insiders told me there is definitely less applicants this year in general, but much stronger poll. Is that true?
