We have had zero financial aid requests. I know that the processes are totally separate but I can’t help but wonder if it is a negative sign.
When we called them last week to clarify some items they said it’s under review and more questions may be coming.
There is no reason to wait until Friday unless you are planning on withdrawing the application if your child does not get in via EA. They will defer everyone that is not accepted and it is not a soft rejection. Last year, of the students who applied EA and were accepted, about half were accepted in January (2400) and half in March (2000).
It is possible they have not gotten to your account yet. Or that they have everything that they need. It is not a sign towards admissions AT ALL. The financial aid department has no idea what is happening in admissions.
We are not planning to withdraw, but some items they are asking require some time and “digging”, so if there is no hurry (by Friday), we may slow down with responses……
We haven’t received any requests either.
Unless they give you a deadline, I don’t think there is a need to rush to have it done by Friday. In the past, EA (or Jan acceptances prior to EA) would receive their financial aid packages at the same time as RD.

We have a very specific situation that may require additional info. If your financials are straightforward they may not need anything else besides CSS.
i read all conversations previous years. Many people who weren’t requested tax information, but got in.
My kid applied EA after a USC tour - really liked that despite the size, one could most likely find one’s peeps on campus via major and clubs. Hoping to advance to merit scholarship round.
Earned their best academic award designation after the deadline, and ended up submitting a humanities versus STEM recommendation due to glitch in the submission system.
I hope that if a student can earn a chance at the merit round of scholarships, that they can update their profile and LORs!
i read all conversations previous years. Many people who weren’t requested tax information, but got in. Specially this year, hard to predict since fafsa is delayed.
There technically is no deadline, yet the email reminder although automated ( I think ) says to adhere to deadline requirements, which is 10 after request.
My child got invitation card before usc admission counselor visit high school campus. I think usc area admission counselor had information and sent invitation postal card to meet some students.
I think this is done by school counselors. My son got for Berkeley and once the Berkeley advisor was at school my son forgot and had to be called out via speaker out of his class room, lol……
UC school has different system since they sent to paper for opening transcripts permission about end of 11th .
It depends. If school has UC counselors on staff then they already know which student is valedictorian, salutatorian etc……
We signed to allow that uc can see our transcript . I don’t know UC staff is in any high school. But i signed 2 times already for my children so before admission process, UC can see top students transcript. USC also sent invitation to a few students, so i guessed they have SAT score already. Some colleagues sent email about impression for AP score which my child got . So i kind of believe, the schools have quite information beforehand to admission.
It’s in the portal (right side under USC FAST)
If you signed something from UC, NOT USC, then it was to agree for UC to include your child’s grades in 9% ELC calculations. You can confirm if he is included once you log back into UC’s portal and checks how they view your application ( if you applied to any of UC’s).
I know it very well. My first child got in all UCs ( specially got scholarship from uc berkeley) . I am talking about USC. Our school sends about 10 students UCLA and UC berkeley but bunch of students get in uci , ucsd and ucsb . Of course, we live in California, our students most get in uc . My first child studies claremont school so i hoped my second will get in pomona college either but second child doesn’t want yo be with first one. For me , i hoped they stay in California so we applied some top schools but i don’t really care of out of state . I even don’t want Havard . But if Couldn’t get in all California schools, we have no choice.
