Nice. I have Georgia Tech too but not expecting much. I bet your kids will get in though. They seem to be amazing academically.
Best of luck!!
Good luck on your Georgia Tech! It’s a big enough school for all of us to get in.
He selected management science engineering as likely major on Stanford app. 4.0 unweighted (school doesn’t calculate weighted); 5 APs; 1570 SAT. He had great essays but I think the hook was his highly successful game development business.
Fantastic. Congrats!
USC has generous AP policy (~ 1 year worth) compared to other competitive private colleges, and that’s one of the reasons we applied. Oh well. But congratulate to your kid, as her/his APs are not totally wasted.
My daughter deferred. She’s our youngest so been through college apps before. All will be OK! Congrats to those accepted tonight!
Thanks. Congrats to your kid.
Once you are accepted into Viterbi, you are accepted into all of the majors. Your kid could change to CS or ChemE if they decide that is the path they want to pursue.
And, if after your first classes you decide you want to be a different kind of engineer, changing majors just requires a meeting with an advisor and your signature. If you’re admitted to one of our engineering programs, you are admitted to all of them. No major is easier or more difficult to get into than any other, and none of the programs are impacted.
USC offers early admits the option to put a housing deposit down before committing. We put down a housing deposit before the merit scholarship interview. My student didn’t want to miss out on living in McCarthy.
My son got in. Political Science. Dornsife.
We are in heaven.
Congrats!
D24 deferred. Totally bummed. Wanted to have a chance at McCarthy.

Does anyone know if chosen major is a factor? Are certain schools less or more selective or competitive at USC?
Your child sounds amazing and unbelievably disciplined. Chances are they will be an amazing asset to the future school they end up attending. You should be proud of raising such a productive and thoughtful young individual!
Wait - I need to hear more about housing considerations!
