USC Class of 2028 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

I wouldn’t. USC has never released admissions after Ivy Day or Stanford.

Last year they announced on 3/24, so my money is on 3/22 this year…

It will NOT be April 1st.

Sweet spot has been March 22-25th for over 15 years, on a Friday. They will post date soon.

Sorry- just found this topic and this might have been covered previously.

Any potential merit $ for the 1 Apr notifications?

Not from the school directly but there were several other scholarships students could apply to separately.

Only if you are a National Merit Finalist or applying to a major that does not accept EA.

Can anyone speak to a “We’re Concerned” about your mid-year grades email discussed elsewhere?
Did anyone here get the email?

Welcome.

That was the first post by someone on Reddit. I didn’t read the whole thread, but it sounds like they were admitted early and their midyear report shows a C.

From the USC website:

Your admission to USC is conditional on your continued achievement at the same level of academic performance. The Office of Admission carefully reviews all final transcripts. If your senior-year or final-term grades decline, we will contact you. In the most serious cases, offers of admission will be rescinded. If you have questions or concerns you wish to bring to our attention, please contact the Office of Admission.

My D24 was accepted early and registered for housing when the portal opened. Her BFF applied RD but hasn’t heard yet. Does anyone know how housing priority works if you are listing roomates? If one has a much earlier date stamp for registering do both students get higher priority? She’s worried if her friend gets in and she choses to list her as a roomate that she won’t get her housing choice.

Thanks for the advice!

When will trustee scholarship results come?

Last year it was the day after regular decisions in later March. Some years it has been just before RD comes out, but in that timeframe.

It depends. Your daughter and her friend can apply together and would have to have the exact same choices for your best chance. Your daughter’s priority registration would pull her friend up. But, if your daughter wants to get into McCarthy and her friend is not a Trustee or Presidential scholar, her friend will not get assigned with her. (It is possible, but not likely, if friend is a Dean’s Scholar.)

A question about the scholarship interviews. If a student interviews and does not get offered a Trustee or Presidential, will they get a Dean’s or other offer? Is it possible they will just get a thank you and no scholarship? Thx.

It is possible that they won’t get a scholarship but unlikely. I believe the vast majority of kids who interview get one.

Does anyone know when scholarship notifications will come out? I know the email said mid-March but wasnt sure if they might come earlier

Mid March would be early for them, so that’s better news than previous years. They are usually a day or two before or after regular decisions. They should be posting dates for scholarships and reg decisions pretty soon to their admissions page/instagram/twitter.

30 posts were merged into an existing topic: USC COA $95,225 for the 2024-25 school year

Also for the portfolio kids. If your major required a portfolio, you are not allowed to apply EA, but are still considered for scholarships if apply by Dec 1. I assume they reserve a portion of the university scholarships for the artistic/portfolio kids that are admitted in RD.

I don’t know much about USC but in recent years, I know of 4 kids who went to cal state schools and/or community college for undergrad because they didn’t get into other schools and all 4 got into usc as a sophomore, so after spending only 1 yr in cal states or community college. Is this a USC path that is known as an easy way to get into usc? Just wondering if anyone has any insights.
