I read (on this site, I believe) that Legacy students who were denied as freshman were highly encouraged to reapply as a sophomore for admission. (I may also recall that that is ending this year - not sure).
Congratulations!
@Mellome I can’t believe no one jumped all over your post! Did it happen to be Thornton or SCA? Congrats, hope it is what you wanted!
Thanks! ,not Thornton or SCA. she’s Bio. We are blown away. USC would have been out of reach for sure. This is by far the best merit package she has received so far! Hope others had good outcomes as well!
Congratulations.Is it trustee scholarship?
Yes!
That’s fantastic! Congratulations to your daughter. I’m sure it is well deserved.
Fantastic - congratulations. What an insanely sweet deal !!!
Wow - congrats that is amazing for her and the fam! Surprised by the major, maybe they are letting them rip early which would be such a better plan. I never understood why they waited till end of March rather than getting kids emotionally invested sooner than later!
Bravo!
aka Trojan Transfer Plan. And while the name may not be formally used by them, at least last year, some still received the “invite” to apply again as a transfer for sophomore year. I started this thread in 2020, and while it seems it could be out of date, everything in it is still relevant today. Schools tend to be machines that run the same year after year, it seems just the price goes up!
Wow Congratulations.Good Luck to her.
Congratulations. That is truly the best possible news for your family.
Congratulations!!! Fight on!
My son also received his scholarship letter last night sometime. He told me this morning. Very excited, he was awarded the presidential scholarship. We didn’t expect him to get admitted let alone interview for the scholarship. So this is just really awesome! And completely unexpected, I had on my calendar to start expecting it around March 23. It’s nice to get something early. (And especially since I completely messed up the CSS application to four schools… ugh.)
Congratulations!
CSS is a bear. I feel your pain.
Thanks! And thanks
My other son didn’t apply to any CSS schools, it was not on my radar.
Congratulations to your kid - half-off tuition is a big deal.
Congratulations to your son and your family!!!
Wow, congratulations!!!
My son got his President scholarship letter last night too. He’s over the moon because that’s the only way we could even consider it. I think it’s pretty smart of USC to send these out before other schools and get the kids emotionally committed before other schools even notify acceptance. He already wants to withdraw his app from Hopkins, Vandy, Tulane, CWRU, UCLA and UCB. We’ll support what he decides but I want him to have choices and consider all of them before deciding.
