Anyone can transfer. They put the transfer stuff in the letter usually for legacy or students that they want to let down nicely with a denial. They will offer a session in the summer, i believe, that will outline how to try and transfer. Nothing is guaranteed!

Great! Congratulations!

Can you have her check her FAST (financial aid) and see if it is posted already? I’m curious how long it will take to show up.

Ok, wdym by let down nicely? I am not a legacy so idk why they would let me down nicely lol. I’m not upset by any means

a huge congrats, that major is so SO hard to get into.

Nope. Its pretty much guaranteed if you go to the information sessions. I’m a current student and know people who did TTP abroad for a year with other TTP students. Everyone got in (fall or spring of the following year, spring if they didn’t meet the gpa requirement.)

We got the letter a couple days after acceptance last year. It came with all the scholarship notifications. This year, the other scholarship notifications have already come out, so not sure when they’ll do the NMS ones, but she will definitely get it.

Not true. Yes anyone can transfer, but only those with the invite for the TTP get assistance and planning in doing so. They are treated differently. And those with invite in denial have much much better chance of successful transfer than those that apply without it.

It has nothing to do with letting someone down softly.

excuse me what is TTP? and how does it work this program to prepare to succeed a transfer?

Some students that admissions officers really liked, but couldn’t admit, are invited to information sessions where admissions gives them details and guides them on how to successfully transfer to USC after one year. They are treated differently than normal transfer applicants

This invitation is in the rejection letter, which is how you know you got TTP

“this decision was especially difficult for us given your ties to the USC community. If you decide that you still wish to explore a path to USC, consider applying for admission as a transfer student” bro

Well, the upside to the absolutely inevitable news of my kid’s rejection is that I will not have to eat a cardinal and gold hat. :joy::joy::joy:

It has been so apparent from the beginning that my NMF wasn’t getting a fair shake. That’s fine, institutional priorities and all that, but USC made him feel invisible. They should really work on engagement. He was offered the transfer thing which means no 50% tuition scholarship has to be given to him. Whoda thunk? No thanks! We all had a laugh about that.

Congrats to all who received acceptances! And best wishes to those rejected, I feel that you will all land somewhere that loves you back.

My son isn’t home to open his portal but the email seems very curt - just saying that there has been an “update to your admissions status in your portal” … is that a rejection or did those of you with positive news have the same?

My son got no email so it may be good news. Good luck!

I’ve heard that TTP will no longer be invitational. The option will be offered to all who weren’t admitted today.
