<p>Luis Alfaro, who is on the faculty at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts, has been awarded the Joyce Award for 2012. This award includes a grant of $50,000. Professor Alfaro is a critically acclaimed playwright. He has received the 1998 National Hispanic Playwright Competition, Kennedy Center funding for New American Plays twice, NEA Residency Grants and was named a Rockefeller Fellow. His most important award was the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.</p>
