USC transfers.

haha good question. i heard there’s NO housing left… but i mean, i can probably live with a family friend if push comes to shove. what about everyone else?

wth? transfers dont have housing?

Don’t listen to him. They have housing, but its harder to get housing of your choice. USC is becoming very overpopulated so they can’t accommodate everyone’s housing CHOICES.

um, i’m female. and i have heard that they’ve been putting people on a waiting list for housing, but that might only be relevant for current students. anyone know exactly what the situation is?

Probably spring admission students. Once people graduate from USC, there will be more spaces available next year.

i submitted a request for my college transcript to be sent. high school transcript will be on monday (schools closed for presidents week). is this bad? i wasn’t very serious with usc. but now i think i am. they don’t start reviewing all the material yet, do they? thanks

^
I don’t think it’s THAT bad.
I’m sending mine next week as well and I just got a letter today requesting the needed transcripts.

i currently have about ~35 to 40 transferrable units and may have up to 50 by the end of this year. would i be admitted as a sophomore or a junior? do courses have to correlate really closely in order to transfer?

for example: Intro to CE Methods vs. Computer Methods in Engineering at my school

are there any transfer applicants out there in a similar situation as me?

I got a letter last week saying they haven’t received my HS transcript even though I sent it mid January. Ill call tomorrow to see what the deal is

That happened to me too, they said that they recieve them within 4-5 business days but it’s tha transcript processing process that takes forever.

this really is killing me. anyone?

ccman - check out http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/admission/transfer/credit</a> (if you haven’t already done so).

the general rule is that courses taken at accredited universities will always transfer. i don’t know how courses are evaluated for in-major credit… but it’ll be at the department’s discretion. the results of your transfer credit evaluation will show up on oasis (https://camel2.usc.edu/OASIS</a>) after you’re admitted. your class standing is based on the number of credits you’ve completed upon admission - any courses that are still in progress will be factored in at the end of the grading term.

thanks for the help

has anyone heard back about scholarships (alumni or transfer merit)? i got an e-mail saying i’d be contacted for an interview if i’m a finalist, but that’s it… and i neeed that money.

anyone? anyone?

maximum transferable units = 64… what they don’t tell you is that you need to take GE 4 and 6 at USC no matter how many units you took.

ic, thanks for the info.
anyone want to do a quick chance for me at usc from a few stats?
coming from duke, with a “transferable” GPA of about 3.3
prob about 40-50 transferable units, maybe more from APs
admitted to USC as freshman (and i committed w/ deposit, but parents talked me out of it to go to duke… now i say screw east coast “prestige”)
1510 SAT (old version), two 800s on SAT IIs
typical sports/club ECs in high school
not quite as many ECs here at duke, but a few good ones including a volunteer group and dorm representative

i guess im worried about the gpa most, i dunno. it is clear just from reading this thread through that USC has some a diverse group of very qualified transfer applicants coming from the cali area, esp from CCs. to be honest, i didn’t realize usc attracted this amount of interest (as far as transfers are concerned), but just reading some of the posts on here gets me even more excited about potentially being a trojan

ccman: well good think you want to leave Duke because the next year Cameroon Indoor will be in shock if USC were to come play them because with the “fab four” they’re going to have it should be fun. Oh ya and did you know the USC football is starting to become a decent program…hmmm.

Anyway your GPA is probably the weakest aspect but if I was an admission concelour your coming from Duke and that really says something to me. I know a women within the Marshall School and through talking to her USC does not seem like the type of institution that admits strictly by GPA. They really do want to see what type of an indivdual academic you are. Hopefully you got all your forms in because they are due in about an hour (west coast time).

Good luck man maybe I’ll see ya there next year.

“fab four” I mean Gab Pruitt, Nik Young, Taj Gibson, and OJ MAYO baby!!

yeah duke bball is not doing too hot. i would love to see sc in cameron though.

which forms are you referring to? tax returns and financial aid?

what if i am not applying for financial aid? im not sure what is required then

wow, you’re in for sure…

anyways, whats wrong with Duke?

oh and Nick Young probably said he’s leaving this year.
