USC transfers.

crap. so if i cant get the grade changed, im better off just sending them now. damnit, i wish my professor would just tell me yes or no but im having trouble getting a hold of him.

I dont think your chances will be hurt if you send in spring transcripts near the deadline. Because some schools dont end until later and that would be just unfair.

I am finishing my last semester of high school and I was wondering… do second semester senior grades really make much of an impact on your transfer application?

Is anyone having trouble logging into the Online Enrollment Confirmation page??

Any School of Theater transfers here?

jtlovesyors: yeah im wondering the same thing because im a 2nd semester senior and im planning on attending jc for a year and transferring to usc. from what i understand if you have 30 semester units (finished or in progress) your high school transcript won’t factor into the decision.

jimbob88 - i can log on to the online enrollment confirmation page, but it’ll probably take like a week or so from the time you were accepted for them to update it.

try sig.usc.edu for your financial aid - it’s always shown your admissions document status & your financial aid document status, but if there’s also a link to your financial aid award… they haven’t finished, but it’s coming. if there isn’t a finaid award link, i’d call and ask about it.

JTloverYorS? - depends on how your hs grades affect your overall grade trend and when you apply for transfer. if you apply with 30 or more semester units (in theory, at the end of your sophomore year), they won’t look at your hs grades at all. if you apply with less than 30 semester units (at the end of your freshman year), they’ll probably look at how smoothly you were able to transition from your last years of high school to your first semester in college.

socal?: wouldnt 30 units be at the end of your freshman year?

If USC admission goes by the book, they will decide your admission on college GPA and HS GPA. This applies if you have less than 30 units COMPLETED by application due date. However, it’s a popular belief (not confirmed) that they request spring grades for all sophomore transfers. That will mean that 30 units of college GPA will be judged, and HS GPA becomes irrelevant.

Just do well in HS. That way, you have one less thing to worry about.

hmm i will have 26 units by the app. deadline date. i could possible go over 30 if i participate in the 6 week intersession, but during this 6 weeks i planned on going abroad to participate in a business internship for a month. im guessing i’ll be graduating high school with a 3.6-3.75 gpa uw (the plan is that i’ll have a 4.0 at cc). i dont think i should skip the internship even if it means i don’t have 30 credits by the app. deadline date. am i correct with this mindset?

S’s spring grades request dated 5/17 received today.

mmck, is your S a Sophomore or a Junior transfer?

How likely will a sophomore transfer be able to get on-campus housing? I applied a few days ago, but I dont think transfers find out til july??

I’m a current USC student, and my girlfriend is transfering (or trying to) right now. She applied a month early, is a freshman at the University of Oregon with a 4.0, and has been taking 18 units per term. Her high-school grades weren’t bragable though.

Yet, she has not yet recieved an acceptance letter or grade request… should I be worried?

kamikaze…if you go way back in the posts you’ll see that alot of people waited awhile. i think its fair to say that the june 1st deadline isnt saying much. i dont think you should worry about anything. best of luck.

Oh, scratch that, got a grade request today. She’s looking to get a 3.9 or 4.0 again this semester.

Does anyone know how often students who transfers into USC Marshall actually grades in 2 years??

Is it in any way safe to assume that after one has recieved a grade request, that if they get a 4.0 (or close to it), that they will get in?

kamikaze- I wouldn’t say she’s 100% in, but it’d be a shocker if she didn’t get in.

I’m kind of in the same position, I’m holding a 4.0 this semester but still havent recieved a grade request (I’m really starting to get the feeling im gonna be rejected on the spot, which would really *ing * me off)

I don’t know how USC rejects a students who’s been accepted by UPenn
