USC transfers.

goldenjet, im pretty confident you’ll get in. Relax!

Trying really hard to bro.

I thought that going through this whole thing would be easier this year but I was so wrong.

i called usc regarding the whole taking my creative writing class (and told her why) during this summer… at first the lady told me that they might want to make a decision soon so i might be rejected or they could also wait for me to send them the grade and send a decision late july… then i told her the class started june 18 and ended midjuly and her attitude changed and said oh well that’s not that bad and she said she would make a note of it so they would be informed…
i let out a huge sigh of relief
man i hope everything goes ok… still so very nervous

also if anybody knows
if they reject you for not having done a requirement (but you are in the midst of completing it) but you complete it soon afterwards … can you appeal and say i have it done now? would that be enough “evidence” to maybe change their minds about it?

Yesterday when I called, the person told me there’s a decision on my file and I should get it on friday, but when i called today another person told me there’s no decision yet. What’s up with USC’s admission office?

anyone know how long after I send the spring grades it takes to get a decision?

I just called again and the lady said…

“looks like your decision just went out yesterday…”

maybe it takes a while for it to update on their system…

Well, if the whole admissions certificate thingy online works for everyone now, I didn;t get in, but i’ll wait for my decision.

i just got my financial aid award, it sux!

goldenjet - Nervous?

mojojo, how’d you check financial aid? oasis? or did they email you? do you know your efc?

lol, of course i know my efc.

and i checked on oasis.

Can all accepted students log into the enrollment committment page?

usc sucks. I guess i will be going to either ucla or ucberk in the fall. (I will make my decision tonight)

Good luck everyone else!

Got my decision about 40 minutes ago.

Rejection letter with a nice little euphemistic FAQ of why they didn’t accept me. I’ve been dealing with it, I’m hella dissapointed and honestly, almost kinda hurt.

I don’t get it, I really felt as if this was my year. I raised my GPA since I moved out to LA but thats just the way things work sometimes. No use bickering and **ing about it though because things could be alot worse. I’m sure someone in the world lost their father the second i opened my letter, and they’re feeling a lot *ing worse than I am right now

I already know I’m gonna apply for a 3rd time next year but I’ll be applying for other places as well, since it’s going to be even more competitive and they’ve already made a habit of rejecting me and old habits die hard, lol. Anyone have any suggestions of schools I should look at?

Good luck to the rest of you. I’ll still be around working the master list while you guys get your decisions

Ouch dude, thats ROUGH. Your GPA is pretty high too. Sorry man… I can feel the hurt from what you just said.

sorry to hear that. Oh well, usc sucks anyways (as i stated 2 posts back). Good luck next year.

btw, what was your gpa?

Thanks bro I appreciate it. What sucks even more is that it’ll be even higher after this semester is over. But they did say that the average GPA of admitted students this year so far was a 3.7 and I was still under that.

If theres any silver lining to the whole thing, its that I really got my ass in gear this semester and have worked harder than ever. Hopefully that’ll continue into next year (Im gonna take summer classes so I dont come back lazy in the fall) and maybe a few more semester of 4.0 grades will make them want me next year and if they still don’t, some other school will.

Mojojojo - i had a 3.6 with a 4.0 running this spring

goldenjet-
sorry to hear that dude. you seem like a such a great person, and it’s USC’s lost not accepting you. Good luck next year and work really hard to prove USC wrong.

usc is expensive anyways

I got rejected too for Marshall. I had a 3.65 GPA with all pre req’s done at the time of application. Even had a 4.0 for my spring grades. I went to a CCC and have over 60 units done, so I was at a junior level standing. It’s alright as I already sent in my SIR to UCLA a couple weeks ago.

I applied as a jr level transfer to Marshall and have yet to hear anything, but today on OASIS I got this message regarding financial aid:

“Have your parent(s) submit the following information concerning their residence. If your parent(s) have sold their residence please submit a copy of the escrow closing statement showing sales price and mortgage, and provide an explanation of the use of the proceeds of the sale. The current market value of the residence is $. The amount currently owed on the residence is $. The residence was purchased in 19/20. The purchase price was $____. (HMA.P)”

The status date is as of today. Is this a good sign? I was getting concerned because I hadn’t received anything yet.
