USC transfers.

I think you are in. When my sister was accepted as a freshmen she was asked something like that too. does your finaid say you are being reviewed for eligilibity?

cat - thanks for the kind words man. Have you heard anything yet?

nope I am getting worried. I called yesterday and they told me there’s a decision, but when i called today another person told me there’s no decision. It’s really weird.

Maybe you misheard the person yesterday?

I called at 9:30 this morning and the dude said no decison had been made and when i called this afternoon, the chick said my decision was mailed out yesterday

so golden jet how do u know ur rejected, u got letter?

I don’t think i misheard. I am just really fed up with USC’s admission office. They always give me conflicting or wrong information. I just want this to be over.

cat- did you apply to any other schools?

Yeah I got rejected from UCLA, UCB and accepted to Northwestern. but I really want to go to USC.

Cat- I’m actually considering northwestern for next year but their whole transfer deadline thing confuses the hell out of me.

goldenjet-
It’s not that bad. just make sure everything gets turned in before may 1 when you apply. It’s a great school. Good luck !

golden- I don’t know what to say. Your character through all of this exemplifies one good reason why USC should be admitting you…
Definitely hope to read on this very same thread next year that you’re taking on USC again, if they be so lucky- I hope you craft an essay that mirrors you well, and that it oozes with passion for what it is that you really want. Your story here as it unfolded was really moving, thank you for sharing your posts. Best regards.

damn golden, i really was rooting for you

you applied for film right ? thats waaaaaaay competitive. i dont see why you didnt get in for writing though.

dang, goldenjet i think you should have gotten in. i think out of everyone on this board, you should have/deserved to

sorry to hear the news goldenjet…i really thought you would be in also. gluck with what you decide to do, and i’m sure you will do just fine. i’m in a similar situation as you, but i’ll be attempting to make it to usc after one year at a ccc. i wasn’t accepted while applying to colleges this year. i’ve never really thought of applying to other schools, but now that i see what can happen i’m thinking i really should esp. because i was set on making ccc a 1 year thing only. any suggestions on similar schools i can apply to? (i’m looking to go into business/business law) thanks for any insight.

other schools that I know of that take after one year of school (around 30 units) is University of Boulder Colorado, ASU, Chico State and some other school California State schools that i forget… its not that much of a list but thats all that really comes to mind.

so i really dont have many options in terms of schools similar to usc?

Seriously guys, thanks for all the really nice words, I really appreciate it.

Fight on - I’m pretty sure Northwestern has that policy as well. It’s an excellent school that has become my #2 choice for next year (behind SC of course.) Just keep your grades up next year and I’m sure you’ll get into SC, because Im sure you don’t wanna go to a school like ASU, were you only need an eyeball and an ******* to get in.

Laid back - haha come on man, just because I applied twice doesnt make me anymore deserving than anyone else. I did sacrifice a lot by moving out to LA (friends, family, broke up with GF of 2 and a half years) but I don’t regret it for a second. I’ve met some really good people out here. There are people who were accetped with 3.9 and 4.0 GPA’s on this thread with good EC’s and I’im sure they wrote stellar essays. There were two guys here accepted with lower GPA’s than me, but i know that one of them is transfering from GWU, a very solid 2nd teir school. Hell, there’s even a guy who serves in the Army applying to SC for this fall, how can I be any more deserving than him, even if he is a Republican? (haha, just bustin your balls SCorbust.)

IIIII- Yeah dude, I wasn’t expecting to get into the film program but I’m pretty shocked that I didn’t get into Creative Writing. I assume they had some killer applicants for the major this year.

CCman- thanks bro, I’m rooting for you and everyone else on here as well. I hope I’m the last of the rejections on this thread even though I know that probably won’t be the case.

mmck - I wish you were one of my college professors, cuz I’d have you write me a reccomendation in a second, lol. I hope your S gets in and enjoys SC as much as I would have and if im fortunate enough, will in the fall of 2008.

Cat360 - I haven’t said this before, but I just read through some of your posts and If you don’t get in with a 3.7 coming of of Vanderbilt, that will be seriously ****ed up but if it comes to that, maybe I’ll be joining you in Evanston one day.

Anyone else, if you want advice on how to get through the mortal coil of waiting for a USC response or have any other questions, PM me or just post in this thread, I’ll be around.

golden- You are truly a classy individual, especially for a democrat.

haha ScorBust, thanks. Believe me when I say this, I don’t support the war but I do support our troops so what you do is very respectable in my book.

Just be glad that I dont share the same political mind as my dad (he puts the brick head in Liberal brick head, sometimes it even ****es me off.) As long as you aren’t like Ann Coulter, you’re cool with me, lol.
