Even if they told some of you guys “up to 3 weeks” don’t worry. It could be a lot faster. I think they just say that so that people won’t call everyday (haha… like that stops us!) I called on May 30th and they said they hadn’t made a decision and it could be up to three weeks and then I called on June 2nd and they said that a decision had been made and was mailed on May 31st. Go figure. I got the letter a couple days later. They said up to 3 weeks but a decision was made the next day so don’t worry guys… you could find out any day now!!! =)

me, but i haven’t sent/gotten my grades yet :(

kaitylin- I’ve heard that they send out acceptances and rejections out in batches. According to my SIG, my spring grades were recieved last week and were reviewed by monday. I’m worrying that they’re holding back my letter for the rejection batch. Of course, they might be holding it for the acceptance one too. Since I know you applied for the same major as me, How long did it take for them to make a decision after you sent your spring grades?

I just hope I dont find out next on the 28th- I don’t think I could handle an Acceptance or Rejection on my 21st birthday.

Hobo- I’m still shocked that UCR ends so late- the elementary schools around here have been out for a week now

Dear goldenjet, hobo, cool blue, and bwagy,

i still wait with yall.

you are not alone.

Does the major/school you’re applying to have an impact on your decision? Right now I’m thinking about doing Marshall as my first choice, and Economics (CAS) as my 2nd choice. Would it be smarter to do a different major within CAS as my 2nd choice (Sociology, for example) and then switch into either business or Econ later on? During my freshman year of college I would be fulfilling the prerequisites for both the business and economics departments (SOCI, too), so I can’t imagine switching in once i’m admitted to USC would be tough, correct?

EDIT: Actually, I won’t be taking any foreign languages my freshman year of college. With both econ and soci you need 3 semesters of a foreign language before graduating. Can I just take all 3 at USC? Or do I NEED to take 2 at my college and then finish up at USC orelese I have no chance of getting admitted?

**** I just got all my grades today and this is how it looks like:

Cultural Anthro: A+
Compar. Literature: A+
Microeconomics: A-
Religious Studies: A+

I’m *ing angry for two reasons. Number one I was expecting a clean A in Microecon, which would make my gpa a 4.0 and I know I had like a 95% in the class up until the final, and I did extremly well on the final. My TA was a *ing turk though and I’m armenian so there was clearly some racist unjustice. He really hated me. What ticks me off more is that my major is economics.

Do you guys think this would look really bad since my major is Econ???

only worry about the final gpa - even then it should be great, depending on last semester(s).

James…you can take two at your school and one at SC; but it looks like you are not so when you get to SC you will just take a placement test for whatever language you want and you will start at whatever level you place into…who knows, if you are very good then you might just place out of the whole requirement…
like I said above…I was accepted with no language credit behind me (except 4 years at high school that don’t count) so, it should not hurt you in the admissions process…

Sex, are you insane? An A- is fine, they won’t go crazy. I would explode if I got thoes grades for engineering! :)

has anyone call today?

I called my regional counselor but I got her answer machine.

The mail still hasn’t arrived yet so it’s possible my decision is on it’s way.

fingers crossed, thinks of Jesus

OK, I just wanted to say I finally got in touch with my regional rep today. I’ve been calling for a while and leaving messages on her VM, but no go. Now I’m the type of person who really prefers real conversation, I don’t like doing things in email… just not very personable, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I quickly got a response to my questions today and I am very happy with that
So… if anyone else is like me and has had a hard time getting through, they seem to be very quick to answer emails.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WONDERING WHAT I DID TODAY.***

Wake up at 7:00 AM…Too early to call USC so I watch cartoons

Call my regional counselor at 9:01 AM. No answer. Leave message.

Cartoons.

Call USC main line. I am informed that there is no decision.

I weep, alone.

I wait by the phone, praying that my regional counselor will call back.

I quickly visit my only friends at the local Burger King.

Return home and wait by the phone

Post on http://www.collegeconfidential.com

***This post is a testament to the fact that USC Admissions runs my life. God help me.

mrpuppy, FYI i left an email…

HOURS AGO.

no reply.

he hate me.

hahaha july 4th you’re nuts man.

Even if you don’t get into SC, you get an E for effort and a H for Hilarity!

haha july4, what i highly recommend you - and everyone for that matter - to do is to find out the director for transfer admissions, and call them.

Viterbi has a director for transfer admissions, and through some wrangling i found out who she was and got her number. She was very gracious and very kind, and let me know that all I needed were B’s or better to be admitted to USC. She said as soon as those were in, the admissions committee would get things done.

So for you guys, I recommend you find out the same for your school! good luck

i am the most psycho USC applicant you might never meet. i looked up a transfer admissions boss, they only have one for the engineering school.

to whoever asked if the major you’re applying to affects your chances of being admitted: the answer is yes. Some programs are much much harder to get into, The Film Production Program is extremely difficult, as is the Annenberg Journalism School, Comm in Annenberg is not as difficult. Marshall seems to be somewhat harder than the rest as well. Im not sure how easy it is to do internal transfers(transferring from one USC major to another) for transfer students.
O yeah I’m still waiting also ![]()
1st Choice: Annenberg Broadcast Journalism
2nd Choice: Communications

o july4th, quick ?, Why july4th? you a big 4th of July fan or something or is that wishful thinking that you’ll know by then?

Are you asking why my username is July4?
