At some time or another I’ve got to make a decision:

1 University of Southern California
2 Temple University
3 U.S. Marine Corps
4 Full-time work

As you can see, I only have one attractive option.

july,

so I don’t have to go back and look, when did you talk to your counselor, and is she a regular admissions counselor, or the one assigned to Texas/OK? Was she supportive and positive?

she was assigned to texas…i really didnt git a vibe from her one way or the other.she seemed nice- our conversation was brief

where abouts are you from?

it was this afternoon. i guess 4pm central standard time

Well, since my backup school fell through it’s my first choice of SC or back to West for me in the Fall. I could go back to Florida no problem but no thanks. I’ll wait for as long as it takes, and if I don’t get in I don’t get in. There is still some stuff I can finish up at West for a hell of a lot less money, like Spanish 2 and 3 since I know I’ll have to take them at SC. So, as you can see, I’ve already planned for my rejection as well. Maybe that’s a bit pessimistic, but I sometimes feel it’s best to hope for the best, but plan for the worst. I finally got my stuff to sign in to SIG and OASIS this week. I noticed that the USC ID that was on my bar-codes didn’t match the ID number that was on mail out from USC. I used the second number and sure enough I’m in. Actually the question I needed to talk to my counselor about was just that… and to make sure that the spring grades I submitted with my bar-codes were filled in the right place… I got back this today:

I don’t know if that means they’ve made a final decision or not, but I’m in the same boat as the rest of you… stomach turning, restless nights… and just hoping that I see a big large packet in the mail over the next week. Good luck to all… and Goldenjet, if you’re in the LA area we should go grab a beer… I’ll cross my fingers for us both man.

puppy,
what the hell is ‘West’? a school?.. what was your backup school?

West is part of LA Unified, West LA College. It’s the ghetto CC around here and I love it for it’s ghetto charm… F’ Santa Monica College I went to the University of South Florida, did rather poorly due to hating the school and Florida, and my major… and my friends… and basically life at that time, hehe. Moved out to LA and realized I needed to up my GPA a great deal before I attempted to transfer. My backup was UCLA… I really didn’t want to go to UCLA, and… it turns out they agreed with me. But, it was cheaper and it’s a good school, and if I had been accepted I would have gone. I was wait listed then told thanks, but no thanks… 'tis for the best I’m sure.

I feel ya. i can relate to you on the schools with ghetto charm.

mrpuppy, im not from LA but If/when I come down for orientation (middle of July) I’d be more than happy to take you up on that offer.

goldenjet, where do you call home

Jersey- The armpit of America, lol…

Seriously, I need to get the F outta here.

oh yeah, I remember you told me. Jersey can’t be so bad, its right next to NYC.

did you ever think about rutgers?

I don’t really like Rutgers that much- It just aint for me.

jersey girls must be a bit grotesque. COME TO TEXAS.

collegegirl05, clear your private messages. your box is full :)

i think that when we are all notified of our decisions that we all go for beers and drinking, even if we are in or not…just because of the hell we go through for USC

haha technics, If i dont get in, I’ll need more than one beer lol

I’ll bring the vodka. Greygoose, on me
