Use Google Squared for college search?

Maybe I’m just a geek so no one will share my enthusiasm, but my son just introduced me to Google Squared. I love it.

[Google Squared](http://www.google.com/squared)

Type in anything to be squared…Liberal arts colleges, Pennsylvania colleges, dogs, or lawn mowers, and viola…instant spreadsheet!

You can then add columns for features which it will fill in, such as tuition, or ranking or size. You can also save it, export it, add your own columns.

I’m sure it’s far from perfect, but could be a fun tool and maybe a good starting point.

Woah! That’s great! I tried cheese squared.

Oh dear…that was fun. A whole new way to waste time. It can be extremely useful, but also really funny.

So disappointed…google squared just pretends to give me a square but never finishes it.
It says done at the bottom of my page but …no square.
What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes you have to put in 5 items before it’ll start squaring. For example, when I put in “cheese” I didn’t get a square. It asked me to list 5 examples and once I did, I got a very nice square that listed my 5 cheeses, a lot of other cheeses and then columns of info about each cheese.

Thanks, I will try that!

Oh I tried comedians and it did a great job. I wonder if as more people use it and help it build squares, it will acquire more knowledge to do it automatically? So like if fifteen people help it create a cheese square, will it do it on its own eventually?

13 more people to do a cheese square are needed then…

That was fun but not very accurate. I put in, “Colleges for B students” and got this [Colleges for B students - Google Squared](http://www.google.com/squared/search?q=Colleges+for+B+students) Some of the colleges included in the square are Harvard, Swarthmore and Cal Tech.

Cool app and worth starting a square , seems it does need the user to tweak it–however very nice to begin a search. I tried collegiate sports programs, and then viticulture.
