I ordered something ath should have been deliveed on 22nd, but it STILL is in delay! Anyone having similar problem?
I haven’t ordered anything that is being delivered by the USPS, that I know of. I ordered a mattress-in a box from Walmart on Wednesday night and it was on my front porch on Friday. I was not at home, so I don’t know who delivered it. I was impressed.
Do you have tracking? Did the sender actually get it into the mail?
yes, I do have tracking. I just assumed it was due to thanksgiving but at this point I ma not sure.
On the tracking it tells you how to make an inquiry. Do that. Sometimes packages get stuck because of weather or equipment, and they just sit in one place. Your inquiry can get things moving again.
What stage does the tracking report? Are you sure it shipped, cuz you’re now 2+ weeks late.
I once discovered a Christmas pkg in Feb, when we finally went out the back door.
it says Transit in delay. i m goign to call USPS on monday
I would call/visit USPS as well as call the company you ordered from. That’s way too long. It might be lost in their network somewhere. The company you ordered from is on the hook as they chose the shipping method and since your tracking shows it wasn’t delivered. If it was me, I’d ask them to send a new shipment. 3 weeks is way too long to wait. Be a squeaky wheel.
I would give up on USPS totally and just deal with the company the order is from, if they won’t resend it then just get a refund from the CC company. USPS is just not worth dealing with outside of what little you can do with email.
I’ve gotten two packages through USPS this week without delay.
I agree to deal with the company instead of USPS.
Recently I had the same issue with a package of papers and it was lost. I had to resend it.
I ordered several items around Black Friday and cyber week right afterwards. All packages have been received, UPS and USPS. I shipped out boxes Monday after Thanksgiving, USPS priority flat rate boxes. All were received in a few days.
I’ve ordered several items through USPS since Black Friday, and all items have been received. I’ve never experienced a delay with USPS in the past. My guess is the problem lies with the shipper.
It appears that USPS is the shipper. If you mean the company selling the product, the OP has a tracking number which is an indication it has been sent out.
There has been mention in the press about postal delays this holiday season. I’ve had several Amazon packages delayed and the blame was placed on USPS delays. One was supposed to arrive on Saturday. They are now telling me Wednesday. /
I ordered a bunch of things on Black Friday - only one came by USPS and it arrived on time. But, had a horrible experience when sending car title to ins agent in Boston when S moved there. It was lost for many weeks so I had to pay for a new title and resend. We used Fedex the second time,
I got zero help from Boston P.O. They said they tried to deliver it but couldn’t tell me where it was after that and their story kept changing every time I called. I got my local Postmaster to help find it (even thought it was sent from where S went to school.) I won’t send anything important ever again by USPS. It was finally found back at the PO in town where it was sent.
We’ve ordered things through Amazon a couple of times, expecting to get two day delivery, and the item has taken weeks to come. We kept thinking it was the shipper, then realized, no…it’s two day delivery after it’s in stock and they decide to send it, not from when we ordered it. Now we check more closely, is it actually in stock, and when is it really going to be shipped.
I would agree with @Sybylla One of my package was stuck in transit for more than a week once. It turned out the shipping label got ripped off from the package while scanning. They were able to track it down and delivered back to me.
At the beginning of November, my husband ordered a small package of those rubber bracelets from a charity he supports. He had a tracking number from UPS, but the package was sent UPS Surepost which means, UPS delivers it to your local post office, then USPS delivers from there. The UPS tracking said it had been delivered to our local post office, but then it sat there for over a week. Finally, the Friday after Thanksgiving, about three weeks after he ordered, he called the USPS and was told that b/c the package was sent via the slowest method, USPS had two weeks (!) to deliver it! It actually sat at our local post office for that long. Fortunately, it wasn’t anything he needed quickly. So even though the charity sent it within two days of ordering, it took three weeks to arrive and most of that time it was sitting at our local post office.
A week ago, I was talking with our UPS driver. He told me that this is a new method of delivery and that once UPS delivers it to USPS, it becomes USPS responsibility. He cautioned that with UPS, it is not only easy to track, but much easier to file a complaint if something is not delivered or lost and get reimbursed but once they show that it was delivered to USPS, any complaints need to go through USPS and much harder to get any assistance or answers. Unfortunately though, when ordering something, you don’t necessarily know if the package will be coming through UPS Surepost. Our local post office is notorious for horrible delivery, so this was not good news. However, luckily for me, most of the things I’ve ordered so far have been via regular UPS.
On another note, my mother sent my daughter in college a Halloween card with a $50 check in it. She sent it from the DC area on October 23rd to San Diego. My daughter did not get it until November 20!!! We had assumed the card had gotten lost as the check had not been cashed. My mother said she would just give her cash on Thanksgiving and if the other one turned up, she could just tear it up. Fortunately, it arrived the same day my daughter was flying home but seriously, three weeks? However, we have no idea if the delay was with USPS or with her college mail center - the college mail center swore it was not them (she has to pick up all mail and had periodically gone to have them check for it). She’s never had a problem receiving packages (all UPS delivered) to her mail center and this was the only actual piece of mail via USPS she has gotten, so not sure where the problem was.
Call the company from which you ordered. Tell them you have not received your package…and it’s been three weeks.
Honestly, even with the holidays…that’s long!
I have had this happen, and the company always re-sent another.
Worth the call.
If given a choice, I will go with UPS over USPS every time.
I’ve found USPS tracking information to be vague and rather uninformative. Returns of merchandise (ie The Gap, Eddie Bauer, Old Navy etc.) takes the form of a bulk mailing. I don’t really understand it, but somehow these packages can sit at the local P.O. for days until the bin is full and gets pickup up. All the while there’s no tracking info unless you specifically stopped at the P.O. counter and forced them to give you a scan receipt.
I’ve found that sending something and requiring a signature from the receiver is a hit and miss proposition. This is especially frustrating when the mailer contains checks to the IRS or State tax board.
The very, very few times UPS has had a problem with delivery they’ve been reachable and helpful.
In either case, I can’t see how this is the shippers problem.
