UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

Does anyone know if a Communications major needs 2 sciences in his/her transcript or can one be in progress?

@AustinChalk: I don’t think Communications has any indicator courses; I think it’s just Business that needs certain ones to be finished. And if I’m wrong I’m screwed because I applied there first choice :/

popparna, I think we’re in pretty similar situations, just from reading the posts you and I have made. Right now, I’m a little anxious because it seems a large number of people have already been accepted. I applied for COC-Human Relations with a 3.69, 3 letters of recommendation, and lots of community service. What are your stats?

@popparna @AustinChalk
i applied to the comm school (for PR) as first choice too and i dont think there are any indicator courses required. well, i hope there arent.
getting very anxious and impatient especially because there are people who got in already :(

Accepted to UT College of Communication (Advertising Lower Division)!

Stats:

 • GPA 4.0
 • Transfer Credits: 31 (16 credits from high school, just in case anyone was wondering about AP credits, they do accept them)
 • decent essay and strong resume
 • no teacher recommendation letters

hope this helps and good luck to everyone! :)

Congratulations Tom!! =) Good luck in your future studies at UT!

Hey Tom, congrats! Did it post today, or have you not checked in a while?

thank you!

@letsgoletsgo1: It posted on April 12

Does any applicant who applied for McComb have gotten something from UT Austin ?

So I’m beginning to get worried because I have yet to hear back. I applied to RTF and someone said it takes a while but someone if I recall has been accepted.

@AustinChalk - Yeah we’re pretty much in the same boat from what I can tell. I applied CoC (Public Relations) first choice and COLA (Government) second choice with a 3.68. I have 2 rec letters, 44 hours, a handful of extracurriculars (mostly from high school), and I work in the Marketing department here at SMU so hopefully that’ll help me out with my first choice major. As soon as you find out let me know! We’ll probably find out around the same time.

Congrats Tom!! :)

Just got accepted to the College of Communication Pre-Public Relations!!! I’ve been worrying myself to no end and this is such a HUGE relief. I really hope all of you guys find out soon because I know how nerve wracking the wait is. Good luck everybody!!!
