UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

No engineering results yet. Not that I know of. Hopefully they start rolling in soon.

Accepted to College of Communications with a 3.69. One of the best moments in my life.

Congrats to everyone getting in!!!

Accepted! To COLA! Linguistics, though it was my second choice, it may be a blessing in disguise.

Congrats!
It seems many people get accepted today.

hey ppl, congrats to all who got in. i wanna ask if the following scenario either a) works, b) not advisable or c)worth a shot

gpa 3.59 at CC . A’s in all 3 cals, Bs in phys and A in chem. total 38 hours.

was desperate to get in. got denied first time (last semester). so i applied first choice petroleum engr and second choice undeclared COLA. So is it a), b) or c) ???

I’ll really really appreciate if any of y’all answer.

Alright, can someone please tell me my chances!?
I submitted my application in January…and it has been an anxious couple a months.

GPA: 3.7
Completed 61 hours (44 from the IB diploma and 17 in my first semester)
Moderate essays, no letters of rec, plenty of activities…

first choice major: Geosciences
Second choice: Liberal Arts (und)

I know that Geosciences is really competitive, if anyone is applying to Geosciences post up your stats.

Congratulations to those accepted! Can’t wait to see you cool cats at orientation =p

Accepted to COLA, International Relations as a transfer student. Will have 60 hours by end of this semester including AP credits. Expected GPA (need a little luck on the finals) of 3.8. Was accepted in mid-March which was a month earlier than I was told to expect.

I need to submit my transcripts from this semester because I’m under the 30 credit requirement. Anyone chance of still being accepted? Semester ends May 15 and I’m not feeling very confident that there will be any spots left. I’m OOS and will have 39 credits with 3.92 trying to COLA. BAH these classes need to hurry up and finish! Haha. Thanks for any input.

So long as you have already completed your application and have an “incomplete/needs updated transcript” i’d say you have an excellent chance with stats like that - specifically to COLA.
Although those who already meet the 30-hour requirement are given priority consideration, having in-progress coursework to meet that standard is not necessarily an application ‘death sentence’ (see the CAP transfer policy).

Does you application status say complete? I am been waiting since February for UT to accept me. Texas A&M accepted me in like 5 days and I feel like UT is has put me on a wait list or something or just want to spare my feelings and not reject me yet.

@iqayum18: i’d say u got a good chance. with that kinda gpa and moderate essays, the uni won’t reject u coz in that kinda major they aren’t looking for linguistic geniuses but smart logical ppl. dunno much about IB but if u’ve done the equivalent of cal 1&2, uni phys 1&2 and both chem and all labs from these 4 natural sci courses, you’re good to go.
best of luck. post ur admission decision when u get it.

Thanks Rall!

hey bobby can u mention ur gpa, total hours, and desired major when u applied to tamu?

@Rall
GPA: 3.8
Hours: 32 completed, 15 in progress
Major: Computer Engineering

@bobby

how much calculus have you done and have in progress?

if you have calc 1 at least already done then you stand a really good chance

the more calculus you have done/in progress the better chance you have

your gpa is good…i wouldnt worry about it

i have a 3.83 also…biomedical engineering

cal 1 done

cal 2 in progress currently

enrolled in df/eq for the summer at my cc

46 hrs completed(only 39 are transferrable i have a 3.801 gpa transferrable)
15 hrs in progess(spring)
enrolled for 11 hrs (summer)

finished my application february 29…still havent heard back

@Locness
I finished Calculus 1 already and cal 2 and physics is in progress.

has anyone majoring in astronomy or physics heard back either way yet?

so everybody got a “chance me” reply now can i get one, pretty please?
3.59, 38 hours from CC, all 3 calculus completed with A’s in all, 2 good rec letters, good essays, all sciences done except chem 2. applied 1st choice petr engr and 2nd choice undeclared liberal arts.
