UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

Why wait for July when you can go in June? Unless it’s full, I am not sure if I’m going yet since it’s a financial burden for my family waiting to see financial aid package. Based on a program they have (VSA cost estimator) I think I can afford it and will go so I will attend the June orientation. Has anyone received there financial aid package is it what you expected? more or less?

congratulations :)

Congrats to everyone that heard back and got accepted =D

I am still waiting…
3.81 gpa tranferrable
39 credits transferrable
calc 2 in progress(just found out I officially made an A, professor just needs to enter in grades)
made 1 B this semester

out of 15 hours, in a 4 hour class I made a B, the rest are A’s

so after this semester I’m looking at 54 credits transferable with about 3.789 gpa

idk how that B will affect my decision once I send in my transcript.
first choice bme cockrell
2nd biology CNS

Hi @god @goodjob!I am so happy for your acceptance!
@goodjob I am an international too,and I was also accepted for Economics!

Status check :
“Your application for admission is in review.
We have all the items we need to make your admission decision. As soon as yourdecision is made,it’ll be posted on this page andyou’llbe notified by mail.”

@GeoMajor, I am in the same boat.

I’m not too sure/confident either, but I’ll let you know if I find out anything!

@Evelynnchou

Cool!!
I am from China, but now study in U.S. (the University of Iowa). I will go back home this friday! So excited, since I haven’t been home for more than 270 days, but I can’t wait to see you guys this fall as well!!

I just got rejected by UT… such a bummer. I cried for days & bombed my calculus final exam because of this haha.

Applied to Advertising, no second major. International transfer from ACC.
I still have no idea why they denied my application since I feel like I have a pretty strong background and everything.

3.9 GPA, 2 amazing recommendation letters from communication classes, 3 strong essays, Phi Theta Kappa gold membership with hundreds of volunteer hours, a secure job in my college, and tons of involvement in clubs/organizations and activities. WHY
I’ll still try to appeal though chances are very slim.

This appeared on my status check:
Your application for admission has been denied.
After careful review of applications from a highly-competitive pool of applicants, we are not able to offer you admission. You will not receive a hard copy of this notice via postal mail.

Congratulations to everyone who got in! :)

what the ***! you got denied with a 3.9

maybe it is because of your international status?

@ soniajr

Sorry to hear the news. My status is still in review but if I am rejected I plan on appealing the decision as well. Tubulent times my friends, turbulent times…¡

Locness, are you still waiting as well?

yep still waiting. i think it is because i havent finished cal2 yet…well technically I have…with an A! =D

just grades havent been posted to transcripts yet

“UT Austin teaches calculus in a two-semester sequence, M408C and M408D. If you submit transferable coursework from a college or university that also teaches calculus in two courses, then you can demonstrate calculus readiness by completing or having in progress an equivalent one-semester course. If, however, the college or university from which you submit transferable coursework teaches calculus in a three-semester sequence, you must complete the first two semesters of the sequence to demonstrate calculus readiness.”

notice it says the word MUST complete first 2 semesters of the sequence. so I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re waiting for

those who had already been accepted, go check the thread summer transfer orientation. we plan to meet on skype and also in the summer orientation. since many of us do not know anybody at Austin, we thought that it would be a good idea to meet. go there and leve your skype. the skype meeting will be soon.

@SONIAJR
did u apply in time for deadline?
I still can’t believe you got denied with such a high stats.

I’m still waiting too. I’m wondering whether should I contact the admissions office as my friends have already got their decisions.

I am waiting .
Which school do you apply to?

@NOCHICKY
I apply to Cockrell School of Engineering and my major is Chemical Engineering. What about you? The waiting is killing me as another university is asking me to apply for housing but I still have 3 universities not replying me yet.

I applied to McCombs business shool.
Hope the waiting would end soon.

Hi, new here. Can someone chance me?

1st choice: college of fine arts (not too sure on this one, I think my portfolio was mediocre)
2nd choice: undergraduate studies
GPA: currently 4.0, but it’s going to be 3.68ish or maybe 3.55 if I make a B in my history class.
Essays were decent
Still have to send them a final transcript once grades are posted.
Lots of extracurriculars, but not really any leadership positions

If I go to an in-state CC, but am technically oos until July, will they consider me an oos applicant?

so nobody applied to cockrell engineering particularly in petroleum engineerin?
