I thought that they only accepted engineering students for the summer/fall.
Thats why I waited until spring to apply. I would have applied for this last spring semester otherwise…?(BME major)

I mentioned mccombs because I remember recently someone with a 3.9 got denied. I hear cockrell is almost as hard to get into as mccombs (but obviously not quite as hard as mccombs?).

my spring transcript should arrive at the latest monday night at UT(via electronic transfer).
hopefully i hear back soon.

@XIG: lol my bad i didnt mean to sound like a d. but yeah dude i’ve waiting for my reply from a&m and their internal transfers are much much easier than UT. you just need to spend a semester there, maintain like a 3.2ish, talk to an advisor and you’re in. as simple as that. i understand a&m and no UT in terms of social life, but the school is better at petroleum. f i’m not even sure about my UT vs A&M argument lol.

but i spoke to a friend of mine who is currently studying at UT and he told me you need to be really good at pestering the advisor and making the impression that u REALLY HAVE TO GET IN that major. then if they’re deciding between two identical applicants, you get the preference.

on a side note, i recommend checking out you’re major’s degree plan:

you’d be surprised bro. i got my acceptance sunday 130 AM i kid you not. i was having a late dinner and checked my status out of the blue and THERE it was. i got accepted! it wasn’t there by 10 pm but i guess they auto posted it by midnight in order to avoid angry/depressed/suicidal calls from students lol

@GEO
Yeah I also got accepted Sunday night, between 9 and 12 midnight.

@RALL
I got rejected from A&M- didn’t have calculus done.
Thanks for the link there so much info in here. I remember my advisor a couple years ago printed one of these flow charts for me (so this is where she got it from). Its awesome thank you.

Space flight (astronautics) BABY!!! you’d imagine coming from an astronomy major lol.
Dude you just got me pumped!!!

sorry i may be overreacting.
Mars here i come or rather “Mars here comes some people that i helped get there” lol

Could anyone else chance me for Electrical engineering please? I want to become an international transfer from Mexico.

-College: ITESM (Monterrey Tech) A recognized private mexican school.
-Grades: Well in my 13 courses that i have taken, i have got twelve 100’s and one 99. (Which I assume adds up to 4.0 GPA?)
Some of them are:

-Major: I would love to study Electrical and Computer Engineer.
-I have 40 credit hours here in my university, and when I complete the third semester ill have more than 50.
-I was in the student association in highschool, went to help rural areas, currenty in the student association in university, won a 100% scholarship at NIIT (had to drop out tho)

I got my CAP/rejection on Sunday at like midnight. I remember I checked a few hours before, but the UT rep send check on the March 15th 2011 to know all decisions. I checked at exactly midnight and there it was. I still remember that sad day…

Now I’m hoping I’ll receive my CAP transfer acceptance the tomorrow too cause they already got my transcript on Thursday…

first time on this forum… still waiting on my decision from ut austin… I am a transfer with a 3.9 gpa. My major is nursing. talked to a lady on the phone she said I had a great chance of getting in. shel told me the average gpa for those who got accepted last semester was a 3.51 into the nursing program.

Also I was wondering if anybody knows how long it takes for a transcript to process because my school was supposed to send it out thursday. I called ut on friday and they said its possible it could still be processing.

Sorry guys i’m still kind of fidgeting over this haha…how much does your second transcript matter to them? I’ve read a couple things saying that the first transcript is most important but anyone have any clue as to how the second transcript can affect anything?

I’d say the latest is monday night.
I’m in the same position as you.

Grades came out and were suppose to be sent thursday but the admission office told me it might go either friday…if not then it will wait until after the weekend; monday.

Yeah I’m just worried that my school didn’t send them… The people at admissions and records at my school are probably the worst people I have dealt with as far as dealing with admissions people over the phone. Everybody i have dealt with at ut has been pretty nice for the most part.

The deadline to accepted your offer of admission and submit your enrollment deposit varies based on the date your decision is posted and will be listed on your status page.

actually i was asking whats the absolute latest date they will let you know if you are accepted or rejected to the university. Sorry probably should have worded that differently. I was just wondering cause i’m still waiting on my decision. I know it would have to be before june 25 cause thats when the first orientation is I think… but I’m trying to decide whether or not to take summer classes at my local cc and my payment is due wednesday which sucks. The reason I’m worried is because I know if decided to go ahead and take summer classes I would probably have to miss around a week of class to go to austin for orientation if I got accepted.

i think your assumption that decisions will be made before orientation is about as close to a firm answer as you’ll get. If you’ve submitted an updated transcript i would strongly suspect to hear back before the end of may, but early june is also possible.

Just found out today that ut has finally received my final transcript showing them I have the 30 hours done. However the lady from admissions told me the transcript actually takes a couple of weeks to process then the admissions office will be able to make a decision soon after it is done processing so i guess i won’t hear from UT for at least another 2 1/2 or 3 weeks from now.

Should I send my final transcript to UT? I already have over 30 hours completed when I submitted my application and my status is complete/on time.

My status says the same exact thing “complete/on time” but I don’t think you need to turn yours in, but I guess you can so they will have the courses that you completed on file at least so that way they will transfer over. However as long as their is a note on the status page where they will eventually post your decision saying “We have all the items we need to make your admission decision. As soon as your decision is made, it’ll be posted on this page and you will be notified.” if it says this I think your set and now all you gotta do is play the waiting game like I am now.
