UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

Remember when we all thought decisions would come out in mid-April? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Ive been thinking bout this for quite awhile now… so if i have another transcript from another school that got transferred in my current college, would they actually count it even though my grades reset because of my current school? The credits that i took that got transferred are only stated as transfer, not the grade itself, but UT asked for my transcript from the prev school.

@Artix01 they will calculate your GPA from courses completed at all universities

@Artix01 Have you been making more A’s than B’s lately? Because if that’s the case then I wouldn’t be too worried because UT likes to see a positive trend in GPA.

See that is what im afraid of, cause i studied in a foreign university with a different way of grading, a 3.329 cgpa will earn you a spot in the dean’s lister first honor list. They didnt even asked for the evaluated spantran but instead just ask for my raw transcript. At the same time our classes our mandatory which means we need to take 7-9 class each term for 1-2 hours each class. And that worry me. Getting a 4.0 cgpa in my current school is useless then if they wont take in consideration how drastically diff a foreign school from schools here

@Thompson2688 yes, yes i have. But still tho, its scary.

Is anyone here a CAP external transfer??

@Artix01 Did you write about this in your essays?

@Thompson2688 I’m at CC in Houston. I always take 4 classes and work more than 30 hours per week, not counting some Volunteer hours.

@harugaru Oh wow, hopefully you put that on your resume because 30 hours a week and doing 4 hours is pretty good (with a 4.0).

@Thompson2688 i actually did mention that im taking a double degree, but i didnt dwelve deeper into the matter because i didnt think that it will make a difference. I wish there is a secondary interview you know sonincould explain, i tried to explain it to admission but they cant do non about it. I focused more on turning difficult situation into a positive thing in my essay. Now i am worried.

@Artix01 hmmm… Your situation is really unique because you did go to a international university so in all honesty I have no idea. You could always call UT admissions and try and explain your situation, but other than that I have no idea. Is there any other international students that could help answer?

@Thompson2688 yeah I think I’m good to go because I’m actually working for company as assistant for accounting, so my resume and LOR are pretty good

I was admitted today at 1:00 PM. Government 30 Hours 4.0 . I can’t believe this. thank you everyone and to those that haven’t heard back yet, good things come to those that wait up.
