UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

Did anyone get decisions today?

Nevermind, just called admission office they said that no transfer decisions were released today

We can’t keep bugging them guys, do you know how many calls a day they probably receive? They probably don’t know much more than we do. I know it’s hard but we just have to keep waiting.

What UT is doing to us is so irresponsible and unprofessional

To play devils advocate, the site says by June 15th, so while it’s disappointing and frustrating, I have to disagree that it’s irresponsible and unprofessional. I’m not saying we shouldn’t feel how we feel, but it’s not as if they put May 1st and changed it.

Yea like impossiblethings said, we’ve just had really bad luck this year with the application hour requirement drop. TAMU is just as behind as UT.

This is a nag-friendly zone, so please just let people keep nagging. It’s the least we can do for each other with this stress, and UT already has the upper hand so I don’t think they need more protection and advocators. Keep the nagging rolling y’all. :D/

I didn’t say not to have feelings or not to complain
 I said that it was wrong to say it was unprofessional or irresponsible. Read the entire post.

He was being sardonic.
I think you’re thinking way too much into his statement.

But previously they did say mid- may, I was also told that over the phone more than once. If we get accepted, how much housing will be left by June? My Honors College President said it was unprofessional as well. They sent a rep up to talk to them about the delay because so many of us have passed up other schools waiting for them. What if we dont get accepted and we’ve passed the other schools up?
Sorry, but seriously I’m considering another school now.

@ReesesPieces256 Thanks for some interesting reads in the blog you earlier posted about. As each person calls and gets the responses of “abnormally high number of applications”, I can’t help but think of the article in there

Yes, UT does state On their website that fall transfers should know “no later than June 15”
 but I don’t think any of us really thought they would let 90% of us know that last week. The few stragglers yes but not so many. Did they lead us on, no
is it frustrating, definitely! Good luck to all and enjoy the weekend. See y’all on Tuesday

I have been admitted to Cockrell’s Chemicel Engineering via internal transfer

Again. I understand being frustrated but it is your decision to hold out for UT. I completely get it sucks since so many of us want to go to UT, but sometimes life sucks.

My point is, UT didn’t mislead us
 yes the people on the phones say things but I thought it was agreed a long time ago that no one really had any clue.

And thank you; I know he was being sardonic
 I was reiterating my point because I was not being sardonic.

I’m in complete agreement this blows, especially because other schools need to know like yesterday, but I think people are assuming something should be a certain way but it’s not.

And just because someone at UT says it’s unprofessional doesn’t make it so. I have to go back to the point that the site says June 15th. I think it’s crap but we do not know what’s causing the delay behind closed doors. It would be really nice to know, but we don’t and we may have to make some really difficult decisions in the meantime. But that’s what happens in life.

I said before I think the state should regulate the dates for public institutions so things like this don’t happen. It’s total crap that all of this is set up by the institution individually. But any state school views each applicant and maybe even student as someone who’s going to make them look better and I don’t know if they care enough to worry about our personal decisions.

Another part of me wonders if this is a tactic to get people to dropout of the running since they have so many more applicants.

@scientist89 congrats!!!

yall trippin too much on this thread. let people have their opinions

Why am I not allowed to have an opinion, but everyone else is?

lmaooo have your opinion no one said you couldnt and i wasnt just directing that at you but yall are getting too tensed up over someone being upset that this is taking forever everyones entitled to be upset just like youre entitled to not being upset. who are you to tell someone that theyre not justified in being frustrated?

do they release decisions over the weekend?

The “we’ve had a large number of applicants this year” could be false. It’s more than likely that they are behind.

@lucyelizabeth to my knowledge no

And a wise man once said that an opinion is like a butt, everyone has one and they all stink. That’s my two cents.

I just want to reiterate that everyone is definitely entitled to their frustration. This very much sucks.

I guess that’s all I should’ve said in the beginning.
