UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

When I called a few months ago about some application questions, three different people told me different things. I finally called a different admissions office and finally got someone who knew what she was talking about and helped me with everything. But many people seem to be getting the same answer now so I don’t know.

I would think some cola majors should start to come out…but May 1st isn’t that far away… :frowning:

Yeah they have. Got accepted for TAMU civil engineering two days ago.

@69benniboi69 Congrats!! TAMU engineering is really good.

(And remember to @ somebody so we know what specific post you’re referring to).

@ all the tamu people. Sorry I meant to say nobody for cs / computer engineering has heard back.

@MacCollJac similar experience on the phone. Wonder what would happen if called and asked when COFA would find out.

@awesomesaucee go ahead and add to list plz

GOVT Major / 3.88 GPA / 31 Transferrable Hours / 2 Glowing LOR / 2 Essays (1 good 1 bleh) / Quality resume

@Thompson2688 preach it! I completely agree about the taking a breather!

@ut2020govt you have a really good chance with your gpa. You shouldn’t worry. (again the only reason anyone would get declined is if the essays are garbage).

I highly doubt decisions will be released today. On their website, they changed the “you should know no later than” date from sometime mid May to mid June. I noticed it when I checked a few months ago. I knew right then and there that it was gonna be a bumpy ride.

UT admission twitter just replied through DM. We should expect to hear decisions around late May to early June. That’s more than a month from now on, guys! I’m really done with this nonsense :frowning:

Is college of education one of the earlier decisions to come out or is it later like McCombs?

Seems like we are getting decisions until May… I just wish they would release those you got rejected so we can accept or plan on going to another school before it gets too late.

@karlaawest But that would be the normal thing to do

I’m just worried about registering for classes so late! I HATE waitlists.

Maybe we can all pitch a tent together and live under a bridge since we won’t have anywhere to live

@Chipaton :))

Lmao but for real… how are we supposed to get a sublease or even an on-campus housing in June? UT is being ridiculous to us XP

Some counselor said that engineering decisions would be released in June after they had reviewed Spring transcripts. I don’t know how accurate that is.

Hopefully, they get it done before 2019…

News anchor: “Tonight on ABC News at 10…University of Texas students resort to living under the 6th Street Bridge at Shoal Creek. Let’s go to our corespondent”

Corespondent: “Thanks (insert local news anchor name here), over the last couple of weeks we’ve seen a slow migration of students to the bridge. Let’s ask one now.”

Student: “yeah I was transferring to UT last year and they didn’t send me their decision till June. So, I wasn’t able to get a dorm or apartment, so here I am.”

Corespondent: “Wow. Fascinating.”

Alright I’m an external transfer with Nursing as my first choice. Anyone in the same boat as me, and have gotten anything back yet???
