That’s a wrap, folks. See you in May!
So done with this nonsense. They’re not even an Ivy League school and those kids are starting to hear back! I’m tired of everyone asking me whether I’ve heard or not. It’s ridiculous getting our hopes up with COFA two weeks ago and now saying it won’t be until May. Just trying not to lose my mind
The MyStatus page is down, I think decisions are coming out rn in a while!!!
@zainnaeem the page wouldn’t load for a minute or so until i decided to close it and log in again, still in review
Still in review… couldn’t login and got all excited but still in review.
i can’t believe I just got blue balled by UT...
Lol nope
This is so annoying. If I get into UT I want to take classes full time at ACC over the summer but if not then I want to focus on my career. Ugh the schools should really coordinate with each other.
Although UT is a great school and all and It would be one of my dreams to attend there, this is just absolutely horrible. They are not realizing how much stress they are putting on students who have probably worked hard in their undergraduate career to hopefully attend this school. Again UT is awesome but I am so annoyed right now.
See y’all in June (2019).
do they ever release decisions on the weekends?
Could it be that they are loading decisions to roll out throughout the night and that’s why it was down? Maybe not, but trying to keep positive thoughts out there.
Regardless of when you get the decision, if you want to go to UT, there will be a way and things will fall into place. I think I’m probably quite a bit older than many of you applying, but not maybe old enough to be considered ultra wise, but things happen for a reason even if you can’t see it at first. It’s tough to be patient, and all of our frustrations, fears, etc. are all COMPLETELY valid, but as Thompson said, just take a deep breath and try and do something that distracts your mind for a bit to take a break from the stress of waiting.
UT isn’t an ivy league, but its considered the IVY league in Texas for state schools and who knows, maybe beyond this state’s borders. JUST THINK! If you get in, you’ll have survived the rigorous, lengthy application process and you’re now considered an elite member of the best university in the state of Texas. Remember what starts here changes the world and its because of the students and people and fans apart of their culture.
I was walking around campus today taking photos for a photography class but feeling pretty discouraged. I went towards the UT tower and saw TONS of grads standing in front of the tower taking photos. That can and WILL be us! Try to keep a positive frame of mind and if you think to wait until June is not going to work for you and your life, maybe UT isn’t the right fit for you even if that is hard to accept emotionally. It is devastating… My senior year of high school I was admitted via the CAP program but had to leave the UT-affiliated school due to poor family support and FAFSA issues that resulted from that, but here I am, SEVERAL years later, working toward the dream again. I had to accept then, that I may not ever go to UT or even college at all, but I found a way. We will all find our ways at UT and/or beyond!
And I PROMISE you, that you CAN find housing! Maybe not next door to UT, but definitely on a bus route and there are TONS of students who make it work.
Also, remember if you’re waitlisted for classes or don’t get into what you want, it is ONLY ONE SEMESTER!!! You can be very proactive moving forward for the next semester. Also, depending on what year you’re transferring in, some of the classes are a bit smaller and depending on the professor, you might be able to wiggle in a bit easier than you think. Same for housing (though that would only be a year). It also could be harder, but my husband who is a UT grad would work with his advisor, and she would help push him into certain classes to ensure he graduated on time, so there is hope!
Again, I could be completely wrong, and all of this could come crashing down on our heads, but try to take each moment one step at a time and fill your days with people and activities that make you happy.
If you’re of age though, forget everything I said and have a few too many margaritas instead!
@OGmandyV well said.
Thanks! I feel better now!
Is MyStatus acting weird for everyone as well?
Yeah mines not load at all
@OGmandyV 100% agree with everything you said, everyone just has to take this day by day. I am sharing everyone’s anxiety, but it is definitely fueled by lots of speculative dates. We will all get a response, and for those that the outcome is not what they hope for, think of it as another door opening, though all you can see is the door closing. Most people on this forum are highly qualified for anything they put their mind to, and I hope to see success for all! Also, for us “older” folk, I’ve discovered the lovely combination of alcohol and meditation! Maybe everyone needs to pick up a hobby!
@Saba Yes, they are working on an “emergency maintenance” on the site. I wouldn’t think too much into it, likely just some technical issues
How do you know it’s emergency maintenance ?
CS classes are hard enough to get into as it is. I wouldn’t of hammered down my schedule last fall to finish all the pre reqs if I knew I wouldn’t hear back until freaking may. ~X(
It’s back. This is all unnecessarily stressful.
