UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

do we think it will come out today

i think we can definitely expect a wave to come either today or tomorrow

what time of day do you think 5?

What information do you see under student registration?

FYI: They took a poll on the Reddit thread. Not one auto admit who did not submit a standardized test score has been admitted to McCombs … at least on Reddit! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

UT said …no one will be at disadvantage for NOT submitting test scores.

No one without scores has been accepted - YET. And that is a big yet. All the colleges everywhere are saying they need additional time to process the applications without test scores, so it is possible those with test scores can be evaluated using their traditional benchmarks, while those without are just taking longer.

So in essence, not submitting scores still have “disadvantage”, of getting admission later…

I’m OOS but I got into McCombs with no score. 3.7/4.3 GPA

Edit: I know two other people as well who got in with no scores.

I didn’t submit scores… bad sign for me then…

OOS process may be different. For UT and A&M, most in-state not submitting scores are still waiting for major decisions. One thing students need to know there is a reason they call “test optional”. If they really don’t look at the scores they would have called it “test blind” like many schools in the East coast.

No. They’ve already said that going test optional will not put anyone at a disadvantage and @HL2020 got in with no scores. Everyone be patient and stay positive! Hardest part right now is waiting for a decision.

Agreed. Test optional should not be a disadvantage because GPA is just as important and indicative of success.

HS GPA and the level of difficulty of courses taken are better indicators of success in college. A high GPA alone is less reliable.

Should we expect the wave at 5 or so, if it comes today?

Just to be clear, I should have included a YET. By no means am I saying that everyone who has not submitted a test score is going to get rejected from McCombs. What I’m saying is THERE’S HOPE. Without the clearer determinant of test scores, applications are taking longer to consider and accept. What I’m saying is DON’T PANIC if you’re an auto admit with no test score and you haven’t been accepted yet because we can’t find anyone in tthat category who has been. I’m sure they’re out there, but we can’t find them, so that means there’s a TON of people who are still going to be accepted to McCombs.

Tons of out of staters have gotten in with and without test scores. I’m talking about in-state auto admits. Students in this state really take that top 6% seriously, but I’m starting to wonder what it really means. For years I’ve heard UT admissions described as a crap shoot, and I’m starting to believe it! Texas A&M will admit you to its business school in less than 24 hours if you’re an auto admit.

nope, there are 9 people in my hs district who got into mccombs without test submission who are auto admit

i know ece, ee, cs, pyschology kids who got in without test scores too

I know I can’t speak with the accurate answer but what I can say is there is no comparison between Texas A&M and UT Austin. Austin’s business school is ranked top 10 in the nation, #5 or #6 I believe where as TAMU is top 50. Admission to McCombs is not as easy as admission to Mays regardless of who you are because one is significantly more prestigious than the other.
