UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

is there a group me for mccombs students?

Is the geoscience program a competitive program at UT?

Is regular engineering in UT better than honors engineering at TAMU? I am really confused which one to choose…can anyone share their thoughts? I’d really appreciate it.

Rejected from plan 2 just now! (non-auto admit, 1590 SAT/35 ACT, ECs - research/volunteering/self-started community program/published article)

Is anyone still in review

are decisions for those who applied without priority coming out as well?

Yes, I applied Priority on Oct 30th and am still.in review.

@mancoeri I am admitted to Turing last night, so excited

Is anyone considering going to ACC and transferring over to UT at semester? Anyone know how hard is it to get over?

@whoop2022 im still in review

Got this as a non-priority Turing applicant:

"Thank you for submitting your application to The University of Texas at Austin and your interest in Turing Scholars! Given the number of applications we’ve received and the increasing demand for some programs, we find that we must complete an additional review of your application before making a final decision.

We will do everything we can to provide a decision notification efficiently and no later than March 1. Thank you for your patience and interest in UT Austin!

Check the Admission tab for information about the current status of your application for general admission to the university."

Does anyone know the difference between getting capped and rejected when you log on to the portal?

@sorashiro I got the same message but for Plan II. My friend who applied to Moody Honors did too

@am413824 If you get CAPPED, it will say something along the lines of "Would like to offer you a place in our CAP program. If you get rejected, the top line will say “We regret that we are not able to offer you admission at this time.” In both cases, the housing, financial aid, and honors tabs will disappear.

I was offered the CAP program and I was pretty surprised by their decision. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the appeals process and what it takes to get in.

Did anyone who got accepted in the past get another “check MyStatus” email today? I did and I can’t seem to find any difference…I got accepted into McCombs back in December.

@hskachu Did you apply to honors?

Yes, I did. @freshmesh167

Got accepted to CNS Biology (pre-med) yesterday!

Stats:
-Top 23% at very competitive HS in Texas
-1430 SAT [770 math, 660 reading] – (this sucks ik! I forgot to send in a later SAT score which was higher!!!)
-UW GPA: 3.78
-W GPA: 4.99
-9 APs and 3 dual credits at community college

ECs:
-Medical research (4 publications)
-HOSA internationals 3rd place winner
-4 officer positions in health-related clubs at school
-Orchestra (violin)
-Volunteering at hospitals, various other things (300ish hours)
-Charity work to educate poor children in developing countries (funded this with my own business)

Essay A: Very good – about rising above a toxic community, linked it to a UT student founded movement
Short Answers: Pretty lacking in my opinion (did all 3 in 1 hour ;////) – research, basically ranting about how terribly rigorous my school is, and various leadership positions at school and in community

Good luck to all those who are still waiting for decisions! I hope my terrible stats give y’all some hope lol

@hskachu Which one and have you been admitted? There’s a new message showing up for people still waiting that could’ve triggered the email
