I haven’t heard either. All my documents were in either on or before November 1st. Is submitting ON November 1st considered late for priority?
I got capped during the last wave and I wanted to know what are the chances of me getting into the engineering school if I go through the program. I want to major in environmental engineering but I just read that CAP only guarantees me to be admitted into their liberal arts school. UT Austin is my first choice of schools, but would it be better for me to go to A&M or Texas Tech where I am guaranteed to be in their engineering school.
Just called again, and they told me that from his understanding the remaining applicants will receive a decision next week by Feb. 9th
@longhorncampos even for Fine Arts/Architecture students?
@LonghornCampos does that include the people who were given the Feb 27th notification?
My best guess is only those who have not received a decision for admission yet will hear back by February 9th.
What decisions are being released now?
Looks like all decisions are being released tbh
@TyTran, I think it is better to go to A&M or Tech for engineering vs CAP. If you do well at the other school you can still try to transfer over. If your GPA is not a 3.8 or above, you will still get a good education.
From the UT Admissions Twitter account:
All students who completed their application by Nov. 1 should have received an admissions notification on MyStatus by now. You can learn more about what kind of decision you may have received here: admissions.utexas.edu/apply/decision…
Does anyone know if there will be a non-priority applicant wave today?
My engineering honors says it needs additional review of my application. Anyone else?
@TyTran I agree that if if were me I would for sure go to A&M or Tech. That way you are guaranteed in an great engineering program and not hoping to get one. I have heard it almost impossible to get into engineering from Cap or Pace.
Where did you see that UT admissions Twitter? I can’t find any trace of it? I’m priority, haven’t heard anything. I’ve called and left messages and emailed my admissions counselor, which I got an auto reply stating she was out of the office till the 5th! I can’t believe I can’t get any answers!
i DMd the UT admissions twitter asking why my CNS Biology/Biochem application was delayed to the 27th and they then asked if i had applied to an honors program, and yes i have, health science scholars, and they replied with
That’ll be the reason for the delay. Because there are more complicated review processes for honors programs, some students who applied by the priority deadline are still under review. We’ll try to get you your decision as soon as possible and no later than Feb. 27. In the meantime, thank you for your patience!
hope this helps anyone!
@ChayDaw26 , do you know if you’ve been accepted to your major? My daughter also applied to health science scholars, nursing major, and got the Feb. 27 message as well. I was told the same thing about the honors app holding up the process, but I don’t understand why they would even bother with the honors app if she could possibly be rejected from nursing. I’d like to think she’s getting some kind of offer if she hasn’t been rejected by now, but honestly, who knows. It’s been a confusing process for us to say the least.
that’s what i was curious about so i asked if this was 1) considered a deferral and 2) if my honors decision affects my admission to the university itself and they responded with
We don’t consider it a deferral because we’re not recategorizing your application as regular decision –– it’s just that some schools and programs with more in-depth review processes didn’t have all their priority deadline decisions ready for release on Feb. 1. The way that honors and general university admittance interact differs from student to student, so I don’t have more information on that, sorry.
First post here - but a little input on HSS. My son was notified of his major (biochemistry) in mid December and has been accepted to the Health Science Scholars program, letter was mid Jan from CNS Honors. We are very excited for him!
Did anyone get into Moody? If so, what were your stats?
@ChayDaw26 how long did the admissions twitter take to respond
