@QWERTYUASD So CAP is where are turned down from completing our first year of college at UT, instead, you finish your first year of college at a UT side school such as UT Dallas or UT San Antonio. Once you complete the requirements you have the chance of being able to transfer to UT Austin for your second year. School of Undergraduate Studies is for students who are accepted to UT Austin but haven’t declared a major.
First, If I accept CAP and go to UTSA, am I going there with my first choice major when I was applying UT Austin?
Second I can apply a major that I want to go instead of getting into Liberal Art after the first year. If I fail, I will be in the Liberal art. so what about the school of undergraduate studies? the students in there still need to apply their major, if they fail, they will be still put into liberal art. I can’t see their differences
@QWERTYUASD
First, I’m not sure about the major you get at the CAP school, however, once you reach your second year and apply to UT, there is no guarantee you will get your major and if you don’t get you major you will be defaulted to Liberal Arts at UT.
Ok so getting into UT’s undergraduate studies is an option given only to people who have been admitted to UT their senior year for their first year of college. The CAP program only allows you to transfer to UT your second year. This means that by doing CAP you can not join the Undergraduate studies your sophomore year. So UT only offers you one or the other. Did you get capped or were you accepted into the school of undergraduate studies?
I got capped and don’t know to choose A&M or CAp
@QWERTYUASD, In my opinion, I would choose A&M in your situation. Even if you do CAP the odds of getting your major after CAP isn’t guaranteed and sits at around 30%. I would take the safe route and go with A&M. It’s a great school anyway, so I would recommend that. Although, I’m also a senior who applied both UT and A&M, so I may not be the best consultant.
Thank you for your suggestion, maybe I will still choose CAP which is UTSA, cause I don’t like College Station
By the way, are you ABC?
I’m not sure what ABC is sorry?
Never mind, sorry. good night
@ShieldOfGod @UmaSridhar Thank you guys!
@QWERTYUASD don’t do cap if you’re a UT engineering or computer science major. The chance of you landing your major is extremely slim. They’ll most likely give you a liberal arts major instead. Go to a&m it’s the best choice.
are the Pace and Cap the same except for joining different college or which one is better?
I would also like to know about PACE more. With Pace are you basically accepted? Does anyone know is Pace is worth it?
Yes you’re basically accepted
does anyone know how long it will take for the letter and Gone to Texas sign to come in the mail?
@TheRaveSkydiver My daughter got into Polymathic Scholars on 2/1 or 2/2. She was admitted to the university in mid December. Priority applicant but didn’t submit Polymathic app until 12/1.
Does anyone know when students who applied December 1 should be hearing back? I applied to Health Science Scholars and I want to know if I got into the honors program.
@collegememergal Depends on where you live. I live about 45 minutes from UT and my Gone to Texas banner came in about 3 days after I got accepted
@kitkat2018 The UT website says that CNS honors sends decisions between mid December and end of March.
What was your class rank?
when will the regular decisions come out?
