UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

@bros20000 UT does not require any more sending of transcripts after the fall of senior year. McCombs requires 2 calc classes- she can take them once she gets there or take them at an approved community college.

When is everyone expecting RD decisions?

Someone please answer when the RD decisions come out

@tb2000 what if she took a gap year for personal reasons? And now she has to send the whole transcript, so won’t dropping Calc look bad when applying next year for her?

My portal just changed from “we’re srill reviewing your application for the school of architecture” to “your application for admission is in review” , is this bad ? Does it mean they didn’t accept me for architecture and already moved on to my second major ?

@charizard1234 @mglass5 The UT Austin site says RDs should be complete by 3/1. It should be any day now, right?

college of fine arts??

so…anyone admitted into the college of fine arts??

I believe March 1st, its what posted on their website.

Still no news from Fine Arts here…

So I am confused. what is the benefit of being an auto admit? like I am an auto admit so i got accepted into the university but not for my major yet. If I dont get into my major I can’t attend right? So aren’t I on the same boat as a nonauto admit who got into the University but not college? We both wouldn’t be able to attend UT??

Auto-admits that aren’t admitted to their choice major are given the option to pick from other available majors (those that aren’t over subscribed) or enroll as an undergraduate general studies major. That’s a generic major that allows you to enroll and attend classes and then transfer into another major after 1-2 semesters. However you aren’t guaranteed that you will be accepted to any of the over subscribed majors. So you actually can attend UT, but you have to decide if the available choices to you (pick an open major or go general studies and wait) are what you want.

Still waiting as an international applicant… Haha

Here’s an update:

Called ut admissions after no decision on feb. 1 bc I applied priority (turns out my transcript went through on nov. 2). They said to expect a decision on Friday, but the situation really appears that they’re ahead of schedule and might (big MIGHT) be released tomorrow night.

He emphasized the conditionality of the statement, but keep optimistic.

I was accepted into the School of Architecture yesterday! I did apply early and am an auto-admit. My stats are:

First Choice: Architecture
Second: Undeclared/Undergraduate Studies

GPA: 4.5571 out of Weighted 4.0 Scale
Rank: 8 out of 649 (Top 2%)
ACT: 30

Taken 9 AP Classes (including those I’m taking this year)

Awards:
-Made the All-State Choir (11th and 12th Grad)
-Division 1 Ratings (Superior) at UIL State Solo and Ensemble
-State Finalist for National History Day
-State Qualifier for Future Problem Solving
-AP Scholar
-Texas Music Scholar
-1st Place at State for Texas Alliance for Geographic Awareness
-Sweepstakes for UIL Concert and Sight-Reading

EC’s:
-Key Club member
-Historian of Red Cross Club
-Assistant Director of Choral Department
-Student Congress member
-Worship Leader/Bible Study Leader at my church
-Anti-Bullying Club member
-Socrates Club member

Service Hours/Work Experience:
-about 300+ hours of community service in different places
-about 450 hours as a paid summer intern at a local architecture firm

I would consider my essays to be well-written; I focused on wanting to become an architect and I talked about the skills I acquired from that internship.

I had good recommendation letters from my boss (an AIA Architect) and my school’s History Department Head and Math Department Head. Honestly, I think what really carried me was my architecture internship and making the All-State Choir.

MyStatus still shows that my application is complete . does that mean I am not accepted

I forgot to post this lol:

On January 29th I got accepted to Plan II honors after being accepted to the university and my major the Friday before. Non-auto admit. If anyone wants my stats just ask!

Im also in-state*

Is plan 2 harder to get into than McCombs and McCombs bhp?

@bros20000 yes, it is. Plan II is the most selective program/major at UT and also one of the most selective honors programs around the country.
