@drs17m The University of Florida is nothing close to the level of admittance as UT. UT may say that they have a 39% acceptance rate but you have to include the Automatic admits into the equation. That just leaves with all the calculations for review applicants a 15-20% acceptance rate. You also have to remember that it is very very hard to get in out of state than an in state.
I was admitted into McCombs on 1/31. SAT: 1100 ACT: 23 Solid ECs and my essays were not that bad. I also had great rec letters. Also top 5% of my class.
@WaitingAndWaiting My daughter got in on Jan. 31st to Engineering
so did anyone hear back from CNS on friday? if i didnt hear back, does that mean I am getting deferred on the 16th? i saw somewhere on this thread that said UT was sending out deferrals on the 16th but someone else denied that.
@spbyram When did your daughter submit her application? Which engineering program? My son submitted his app early Nov (after the Nov 1 early deadline).
In-state non-auto CNS applicant here, still in review.
@beesnpeas did you apply for honors? I did and I was wondering if maybe everyone who applied that hasn’t heard back?
OOS CNS Astronomy still in review.
@highschoolsr6 OMG even i applied for astronomy! It’s such a rare course!?!? Which other unis did you apply to?
idk a bunch of big state schools astronomy has been my passion for a while
Applied 12/1. Still in review. International student, mccombs. When can I expect a decision? Thanks.
I think all international student should hear decisions by this week end.
I still have not heard a word about McComb - 35 ACT, ranked first in class of 179 at a Catholic college prep, varsity football and baseball, lots of other ECs. I’m out of state and applied at the very end. My hope is to major in Finance with an emphasis on Real Estate and International Business. I have been accepted to USC, IU Kelly, Georgetown, University of Miami, University of Florida and SMU. Deferred at UNC. Waiting on several others with March dates. My guidance councilor messed up and sent my transcripts electronically so they were not received in time. I had to appeal and was then added to the mix. She also messed up my honors information so I totally missed that deadline. Any idea if I will even get in and if it is worth it if I am not in honors?
CNS still in review too , instate not auto for Environmental science, also applied to Dean’s
@woodace Last year Plan II took 27 percent of their applicants. BHP took around 18 percent- numbers listed on Bhp for their stats- plan 2 gives theirs out when you visit. both selective for sure- but BHP more so i think
@tb2000 is LAH basically where all the people rejected from plan 2 go?
still in review for CNS Biology w/ Pre-Med track, applies to health science scholars. in state non auto
when does undeclared major come out
@bros20000 No. Here is a link with some good explanations about the 2 programs: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-texas-austin/478895-plan-ii-honors-vs-liberal-arts-honors-p1.html
My daughter got into bio chemistry …she applied for honors but still waiting no reply
