So I got the CAP… but there isn’t any information on my first and second house majors. First choice was architecture and second choice was interior design. Should it have said something about the SoA?
This may be a dumb question, but if you accept your offer of admission before you hear back from an honors program, will they still continue to review your honors app?
Just got an email saying to check MyStatus, probably for admission decision, but I am too nervous to check. Is the email good or bad news??? Did anyone who got CAPed get this email or is this acceptance only?
Everyone receives the email no matter the decision @claire0611
I got rejected ! CAPPED for architecture ! I’m going to appeal and apply for undeclared. i know transfer is hard but i really want to attend UT and i have no idea if I want to do architecture , medicine , engineering later so I believe undeclared is my best route. But I’ll probably be CAPped again who knows

I got into TAMU, Univ. of Florida, UH, TXST, UTSA, UT Dallas and Rutgers in NJ
Should I Appeal ?
For TAMU, Rutgers and UH I got into architecture . And UH required a portfolio which I think helped me , and UT Should require portfolios for architecture so they can also evaluate students for their art skills
S was denied for CS. 35 ACT, 3.92 UW, 4.52 W OOS - CA. Glad to have finally received a decision even if it was not one we wanted. Time to move on. Congrats to everyone.
We found out we were capped. 7 other acceptances but on the fence with cap. Dont think we will
Pursue it as we want to on campus all 4 years. Did anyone accept cap? Would like hear any experiences!
Got into UT Physics program today.
How hard is it to double major at UT? Someone told me that it’s really hard to get accepted for that at UT, but I would also like to study math.
any international student received status update? Is the wave on?
Rejected from CS, makes my decision a lot easier though!

I thought I had no chance. I also got into OSU +Honors, Texas Tech +honors, Baylor. I have housing set up at Tech and Baylor. My parents REALLY want me to go to Tech, and they were kind of whatever with my UT acceptance. I will really have to convince them I can do UT, because my Dad’s best friend’s daughter dropped out of UT from the stress. I’m not doing OSU bcuz they said its too expensive for OOS, I have to get a BIG scholarship from Baylor to consider Baylor. Still. waiting. on. A&M. >:( I’m at an impasse with myself, and my parents. Please help me with an unbiased opinion. My major is Microbiology(A&M, Tech) and Psych (UT, Baylor) depending. I am considering changing major to business though because of aforementioned troubles in Chem.
I would recommend going on facebook and searching “UT Austin Roommate Finder”, where you can meet others.
Got an email at 7:47PM last night telling me to check MyStatus. I got capped.
“We aren’t able to offer you admission to The University of Texas at Austin as a freshman, but we would like you to consider participation in the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP). Learn more.” Thats what it’ll say.
I personally may accept it but thats due to my financial situation. It would be cheaper to go to UTSA for the year (since I live in San Antonio) and save even more money and such than go straight to UT Austin. But for the general student, if you really want to sort of “guarantee” admission you should accept. Or appeal it if you feel the students are more credible to receive full admission.
I read the “fine print” of the CAP program and I take back what I said. You only get guaranteed admission in the College of Liberal Arts. And the others you essentially have to compete again.
