Congrats to all. On the same day my son received his notification of National Merit Finalist he also got his CAP notice from UT. He took it great. But it makes you wonder about the holistic review. The only thing he didn’t have was top 10% at his super competitive high school. At least it helped narrow down the choices for next year! CAP is not the right choice for him.
I just got the news today. I am CAPped. I am definitely going to take the offer since it is my dream school, and just go to UTSA as a freshman. To be honest I didn’t think I would get in. I do online schooling with no class ranking soooo…
Also if anyone that got lower testing scores is looking for hope:

I was extremely surprised that I was admitted, although I had great essays,ecs and recs. I think the more genuine you come across throughout your application means a lot to the admissions officers at UT. Congrats to those admitted and best of luck to those waiting. Hook ‘em horns

When I was admitted to UT CNS, Biology major (pre-med track), I actually did not get an email first. My best friend was declined from Vanderbilt so she was checking on UT constantly, when she got accepted she told me to check MyStatus and my acceptance was there.
Just received my rejection from Plan II Honors-- still attending UT though, hook em!

D18 was offered 4 year OOS tuition waiver for her BFA from the College of Fine Arts. Certainly makes a big financial difference ($25K+ p.a.) and was completely unexpected. Are there many of these available - I hadn’t seen it mentioned before and didn’t know it was a possibility?

Did anybody even get denied? I got capped, and so did a bunch of ppl at my school but I haven’t heard of anybody that got denied. Does anyone think that UT only capped ppl?
also does anyone know if they give out Merit money when you get accepted? or does it come out with scholarships
UT doesn’t deny InSTATE students because by law they have to CAP. For Out of State they can deny.
