UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

I am an international student and just received my admission to McCombs school of business!

congratzzz @Ay2022

Congrats @berkeley101

Denied!

To all those suffering in silence, I hope this words give you strength.

You did your best. Let fate play its part now. Probably you weren’t meant to go here. Stay foolish, stay hungry and keep dreaming. Everthing will fall in place and I assure you that you’d go to the place where you were meant to and where you deserve to! I feel you all, but don’t give up. Still a long way to go! Congratulations to all those who got accepted! Best of luck for a bright future ahead. All love

@Nealthakker You are going to do very well in life. This is the kind of attitude which will make you successful in real life. God bless you. Wishing you the very best for your future. and thanks for the inspirational message to other kids.

Thank you for your kind words sir! Miles to go before I sleep…

@Nealthakker did you apply for CS?
Coz i know people whi got into UIUC and other top schools for CS with almost perfect ACT/SAT but got rejected for CS. Maybe they are on next level spree for CS this year

I applied to mccombs @StanfordAspirant

Anyone know if UTSA has filled up for CAP?

Denied for biomedical engineering
Oos w/ 31 act and 4.03 gpa
Accepted to Baylor, Tamu, northeastern, and Tulane. Any idea why I wasn’t accepted? My essays probably weren’t the best.

FIRST DENY I’VE RECEIVED SO FAR.

International
Sat 1430, M780, ERW 650
GPA 3.86 UW
Probably the most rigorous schedule that anyone at my school has
Okay essays

Kinda confused cuz I’ve gotten accepted into better engineering programs

Just knowing your ACT score and your GPA is not enough to maybe give an idea about why you didn’t get in. @snk153

@whoomst can you mention which colleges you got into and your major

@minimango I’ve taken 8 ap classes over the years, receiving 4’s in all. I’m in the capstone program, speech and debate, and have maintained the same job over the past 3 years. Did several volunteer hours at hospitals and biotech companies. Currently conducting graduate level research surrounding synthetic blood substitutes. Any ideas?

You aren’t as great as you think… ACT is decent, but not great… idk what scale your GPA is on, 8 AP isn’t that special, and 4s aren’t either. CAPSTONE doesn’t help with anything, “several” hours isn’t enough. Curious about your graduate level research tho @snk153

@bros20000 no. LAH is COLA’s honors program. Plan II is a major within itself that happens to sit in COLA.- it prescribes your entire degree program where LAH offers some classes to enhance your regular LAH Major. My daughter is going to LAH but did not apply for Plan II. Plan II is sort of like BHP in that it is a whole major. hope that helps

@snk153 the 31 would depend on the distribution of the points. Essays are VERY important to all majors at UT. they can only accept 10 percent of the overall class from out of state and they care deeply about their holistic criteria. kids with 35 ACT and auto admit to the University here got rejected. Sorry this happened, best of luck to you .

@snk153 From UT Biomedical Engineering link: “Admission to BME is selective. Successful applications include a high class rank, GPA, SAT/ACT composite scores, outstanding relevant essays, etc. Applicants admitted to BME are often in the top 3 percent of their high school graduating class.”.

UT GPA seems don’t count. SAT 1500+ or ACT 32+ and those top 1-3 ranked students were more successfully accepted in-state BME. OOS seems to need even higher standard than In-State.

Got accepted to UT Austin as an international student (Vietnamese) and currently studying in California
GPA:
9.3/10 freshman and sophomore years)
4.0/ 4.0(junior year)
SAT: 1390
Great essay: I wrote about my life in Vietnam. I used to live in a poor area in VN.
Major: Biochemistry

Congrats! @thuytien15012000
