UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

So people can actually get deferred in this next wave? UT admissions just tweeted that every priority applicant will receive a “decision” not a “notification” by feb 1. Earlier they were saying it was possible to just get a notification which I assume meant a deferral.

@kelly123s what is the twitter handle to follow admissions? I don’t see any tweets like you quoted. Thanks

This is what Kevin Martin (UT Admissions Guy) said to someone on Reddit about decisions:
My understanding is no one will be rejected prior to February 1. A deferral means just that, your decision will be made with all other applicants (by March 1). It doesn’t mean a rejection.

@Whitman6838 it’s under the ut admissions bealonghorn under “tweets and replies”

Thanks @kelly123s I read that tweet. It is firm that it will be a decision, and a decision can absolutely be a rejection

The decision you receive by Feb 1st can be that they have decided to defer you. I’m assuming that priority applicants will find out if they have accepted, denied or deferred by Feb 1st.

I was at UT for a tour last Friday and was told by an AO that some will get a notice on 2/1 that the school needs more time to review their application. At this point, who knows.

My kids HS stopped ranking a few years ago…stats showed that it made a big difference. More kids got in via holistic review. It forces them to read the application and look beyond rank and grades.

Yesterday when I talked to the admissions guy on the phone he said that they are working really hard to give all priority applicants a decision by feb 1st but there may be some who have to wait until the 3rd week of February when they usually finish with decisions, but they will be told on February first if that is the case. He said there can be rejections on feb 1st but he doesn’t know exactly what they are doing. Honestly it seems even UT doesn’t know yet!

i went to a psychic awhile ago and she said i would get in on jan. 26 so i am anticipating a wave tmrw

Let’s be real, no one really knows what’s going on. Good luck to everyone still waiting. :-S

Gotta love Texas…the great state of confusion LOL

“Keep Austin WEIRD”

Hi, I live in the Houston area and was one of the many that got this email:

The University of Texas at Austin is committed to supporting you throughout the admissions process. I’m writing today with an update on the changes we’ve made for students who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Flexible deadline
Don’t worry about the November 1 priority deadline. As long as you:
Submit your ApplyTexas application by December 1 and
Complete your application with the other required items by December 31,
you will receive an admissions notification by our priority response date of February 1.

I turned in my application two days before Thanksgiving, so I fulfill the requirements for this^, but hearing about the school might be running behind on apps, I’m worried that I won’t receive my decision by Feb. 1 since I applied after the normal priority date but within the date for this special circumstance.

I was wondering, has anyone received a decision that got this email and applied after Nov. 1?

On the off chance decisions DO come out tmrw, let us know! I know that portal updates usually happen between 3-6 (AO told me this). I expect they’ll be on the first of feb, but it’s possible that a few may slip through. Good luck to everyone!

What are the chances of a wave tomorrow?

I saw that a guy got accepted into the school of nursing yesterday 1/24/18. Does nursing do different admissions than other majors?

@Lupescupe Yes they do

do you know how the nursing school accept?

what are your stats for nursing major?
