UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

About 2000 apply and 5% get accepted.

@freshmesh167 , do you know if they release all of the nursing decisions at once? My daughter applied for nursing, and I have a bad feeling that they have released all the decisions already. She is still in review. :frowning:

Same here , no decision yet also waiting to hear from the nursing program

Is there a chance that there is a wave today?

Do certain colleges release decisions before others? How does this all work? And who decides which students get admitted, the university admission officers or officials in the specific college an applicant is applying to?

@studiousstudent12 Rejection

@studiousstudent12 I know you’re studious and all BUT chances don’t seem good. Space club is very impressive though! Especially if you’re fluent in Martian language. beep bop boop snip snap

has CNS released a lot

do you think there will be a wave today?

CNS released a lot if I remember on Dec 15, but keep in mind that only about 10% has been accepted so don’t worry!

do you think there will be a wave today? historically it is always on friday so idk why they would change it to thursday this year

@lexi202 I am getting the impression they want to release the majority at the same time. I think they choose Fridays and after school hours so applicants don’t freak out when they in school. And it gives everyone a weekend to chill out with the news. The twitter said 2/1; so I am thinking this is what they are doing this year since they may have so many applicants.

Just called UT, they said there will be absolutely no wave today despite the rumors on this website. This actually blows…they said it would be closer to february first. I just want to know already :frowning:

@Cmfe123 they say that to everyone, even when they know when it’ll be released. Almost every college I applied to released their decisions a few days earlier than the date they published, and even when I asked them if they were releasing decisions on the day the actual results came out, they said no. It’s their protocol.

@deddeppp There are various ways to be admitted. The university reviews everyone for fit to be admitted to the university. The university itself also does most of the reviews for each college. Many colleges group almost all of their majors together and review them at the college level ( but its still done by the actual admissions person not by someone at the actual college) for example, In Liberal arts- everyone is reviewed against each other for fit to be in COLA. Psychology and Econ have additional criteria beyond the college level criteria. I am unclear if the Econ department and Psych department just set that criteria or if they Review candidates themselves. Also both honors programs review candidates themselves and they can accept someone that the university has other wise not accepted- i dont think that is common but i was told by Plan 2 that they have done it. I think basically most people who have heard from COLA thus far are honors candidates who have gotten their honors program. Other colleges seem to do their own reviewing- like engineering. Business has admissions doing their reviewing too but then they themselves review for their honors program. I think Nursing and Architecture do their own. CNS- most things are grouped together like in COLA- but CS is separate and I think they do that themselves- I am sure their selection criteria is different i just do not know exactly who does their reviews. They are VERY holistic with respect to choosing people for each major so it makes a little sense how long everything takes. Hope that helps- it is very confusing and i only know as much as I do because i have visited 5 different colleges and three honors programs inside UT with my kids.

CHECK MY STATUS RN

@memesRus just checked and still same status… why the urgency?

@ChayDaw26 I think he is just messing with us
