UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

hey guys so i went to another (much more reputable) psychic today and she said decisions would be released in 3-4 days

Is there any chance that regular applicants could get decisions on Wednesday/Thursday? UT is the only school I have not heard from yet and it is my first choice… the waiting is killing me!

@claire0611 Possibly, since regular applicants have found out in the last two waves. However, there is still a very large number of priority applicants who are still waiting, so UT will be prioritizing those

I was accepted into Liberal Arts but my Honors application is still in review… do you think this means I won’t get into honors? I did submit the regular app 2 months before honors (reg app made priority but honors app was sometime in Nov), but for a while it seemed like the reason random people were finding out if they got into UT was bc they were accepted to honors… idk

S (auto admit top 1%) was admitted to McCombs Dec 15. Still waiting to hear from BHP. Pinkzebra… two years ago my oldest son was an auto admit into UT and found out he was accepted to Lib Arts in December… but didn’t hear back about acceptance into LAH until around Feb 8.

so there’s no chance priority applicants will hear before thursday? I thought applicants could find out on monday or tuesday as well.

@mss1217 UT said on Friday they would sent out an email next week regarding what is going to happen. I’m assuming they will send out an email tomorrow or tuesday explaining how they’re going to do it so we will just have to wait and find out- but anything is possible.

Hi, I applied for UT Austin. I am an international student and I sent my application like two days before the deadline.
UT Austin’s website says that decisions will be released on March 1 and priority on Feb. 1. So, will I receive an admission decision this Thursday or I have to wait until March 1. I hope you can help me, I am really nervous. UT Austin is my first choice

Hello Luis. Priority is only for US citizens. Most probably you need to wait until March 1st.

I submitted my application on October 25th but my teacher didn’t upload her recommendation until November 11th. I’m starting to get worried, does that mean I am a regular decision applicant? Or am I still considered priority, but her letter won’t be looked at? I really want to hear back soon!!

Everyone should hear within the next 30 days. No need to be restless.
If you don’t hear back by then, considered yourself got deferred or declined for admission.

I don’t think that it is only for US citizens. I am not a US citizen and had submitted my application in October. Currently the portal says that my application is under review.

Maybe I just got lucky, but I don’t remember reading anything like that @ShieldOfGod

It is stated very clearly on the admissions website. Of course, you may still receive a decision this week but they never promised that for international students.

Let me clarify! The priority works for US citizens and international students who studied at least three years in Texas or qualified as Texas resident.

@maybekatie00 My older daughter was non-auto admit (top 15%) and never sent any LOR to UT because she was trying to sabotage her admittance. She only applied because we made her and she was afraid we would make her go there.

Guess what? She got in without any LORs and we did make her take a tour again after admittance. She made up her own mind where to go. Two years later, she absolutely loves it and is glad that she opened her mind to staying in Texas. Don’t stress about your LORs.

Did anyone hear back today?

I can’t wait any longer. I’M GOING CRAZY

Their admissions office actually says they rarely consider letters of recommendation. Most schools don’t care because they’re always positive and biased (best teachers or whatever) such as UW.

Expect decisions ON Thursday. We can all be pleasantly surprised if they come any sooner!

My DD’s counselor said UT will give a decision or deferral on Thursday, so some of us might get deferred even though they said they wouldn’t do that!
